It should. I assume it is unlocked?

Under Settings, Model number, does it say GT-I9070?

A standard unlocked Samsung Galaxy S Advance (I9070) will work fine here in Thailand. Further it is quad-band 3G so will work with AIS/One-2-Call, DTAC/Happy and TrueMove H.

you sure about that? i was thinking of getting one but seeing conflicting specs, thaimobilecenter shows it as 900/2100 and presumably also 850/1900) siamphone shows it as 900/1900/2100, only on gsmarena can i find it as quad band. looks like a pretty sweet phone for the price though.

Hey dharmabm, tis a "pretty sweet phone for the price" indeed. Have had mine now since last August. Reasons behind buying this particular phone can be found in the below thread which might assist with your decision.

Concerning specs. The first guys I went to try to buy from in Patong stated quite clearly that Galaxy Advance GT-I9070 would not work on DTAC frequencies as confirmed by the information printed on the boxes.

I eventually went to the Samsung dealership under BIg C, Phuket and got the handset. They confirmed it would work on all frequencies.

You bring up a good point. We all rely on published specs, and even service-provider branded packaging, to determine functionality. Obviously it is really up to the individual to make the final determination that the phone will support the desired applications.

That said, with Samsung's frequency variant models, say 850/1900/2100 or 900/`900/2100 (MHz/3G) they are usually differentiated by a suffix on the model number, like I8060 or I8060L. I reviewed a few Samsung web sites and all I could find was but a single I9070 model number for the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, which supports:

850 / 900 / 1,800 / 1,900MHz GSM & EDGE Band

850 / 900 / 1,900 / 2,100MHz 3G Band
Here in Thailand it is not unusual for the wholesale distribution channels to 'customize' packaging for AIS, or DTAC or TrueMove H, presenting quad-band 3G products as tri-band 3G products. These products are not limited in functionality.
