Cfl Lighting Kit Question

I need to get a entry level lighting kit for product photography (and maybe video). I'm looking at lighting kits similar to this:

I have a few questions:

- Could I get something similar in Bkk for a similar price?

- Are these generally OK for basic product shoots?

- Besides having better control over the amount of light, are there any major advantages over soft boxes with multiple light fixtures?
