Neeranam Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I'm looking to get a new 2nd hand car. I don't have much time to look around. Can anyone give me a rough idea of what I could get for this amount. I'd want one about 5-10 years old. I have 50,000 down payment. And can pay about 5,000 a month. I might have 100,000 for down. How much would a 7 year old toyota soluna be for example? What about a 7 year old Honda civic? Cheers NN
Wolfie Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I've been looking around myself, was put onto this site and found it a good guide for what i can get for the money i have... http://www.autos4asia.com/index_a4a.htm available in both English and Thai

Have a look at www.onetwocar.com and do a search. Or have a look through those used car magazines to get an idea of price.
terdsak_12 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Try and stick with Toyota if you can. I've a '92 Corolla for 165K if you're interested. old but still reliable motors.
Thaicoon Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Check this one out, 130,000 baht, its on the ferrang connection site, here is the link. http://www.farangconnection.com/bns.html
taxexile Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 hi there neerenram you've always been a supporter of practical modes of transport , your dislike of big motors , expensive imports and bullying 4x4 pickups is well known. the vehicle for you is surely the ITAAN , that 2 stroke convertible that is so common in the countryside. good fuel economy , natural air conditioning and good carrying capacity. they cant cost more than a few thousand baht. as a scotsman , you know it makes sense !!
Neeranam Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Guys, thanks for the websites and advice. Taxexile, my old mate, what are you talking about - the ITAAN? Do you mean the mechanical buffalo? I thought about one of them but the wife wouldn't be too happy! Terdsak 12, I'm interested in that one you have, can you give any discount to a fellow TV member? Would I have to see it in Bangkok?
terdsak_12 Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I'll PM you the owners email, and you can work it out amoung yourselfs.

Plus Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 We have an old Soluna in the family. Must be 7 or 8 years old. One of us got it as a yearly bonus from the company, it was valued at around 180k. I love driving it occasionally, but it's lost most of the power it once had (109 hp) and is frustrating on expressways.
