Sorry Stevie. Not a good post. Selling or sold is shorting the price. Everton were quoted at 55.5 (points) at the beginning of the season on SI (Sporting Index). If you thought they would get more than the stated points you could buy; and evey point above that would get you a return x your stake. I didn't think they would get them so i shorted (sold); for every point below 55.5 I would get the difference x stake. And a couple is two squids (pounds). I was responding to Carmine's/Walai's posts on Richard Key's insight on Merseyside football for this season. Merseasiders Mick and Les were chatting and Mick (Everton) was trying to explain to Les (Liverpool) why they hadn't achieved anything of note for yonks. Every time Mick said something Les would say "you're having a laugh.'" I was listening and told Mick to stop tickling Les as it was making him double up with laughter. Les took it to heart and refered to Everton as the 'Ticklers'. Edited October 31, 2017 by owl sees all

BangrakBob
This is a Shots on Target clean sheet table since 2014/15 Ie matches where a team prevented the opposition from any shots on target. Amazed at how many times we have done this.

Popular Post jellydog
A penny's worth on Sunday morning: Liverpool will be back in the thick of things and top 4 when (or if) all the attacking talent is healthy. And, I'm convinced Klopp would not have received the criticism he has if he were English. He's got Liverpool back in the Champion's League and the architect of some scintillating football. If management would see fit to improve the defense the sky is the limit. Will there be some creativity in the transfer window come January ? Probably not I suppose, but a keeper and a central defender could do wonders. If I ran Liverpool I would be sounding out Barca for $100m for Coutinho in January and lining up some help for the defense. But maybe I'm just punchy on 5 hours sleep !

VVD must be desperate for the move too. And surely an upgrade on the keepers you have. Like one that can command his box and organize his back four. And what a difference a Mane makes!!! Is there a swap deal possible; Danny for VVD with a little cash sweetener! Pope, for Burnley, is so good at the pres' that Heaton would have trouble getting back in. Why not go for Pope? I don't see any other scenario other than VVD going to Liverpool unless the Saints chairman makes it personal and really digs his heels in. Rose as a specialist left back is a considerable upgrade on Moreno but theres been no talk whatsoever of him leaving Spurs not that i give a toss if he does or doesn't. I can think of atleast two keepers off the top of my head that would be an improvement on what Liverpool currently have.

With all the money United have spent, despite the dreadful football their fans hate, they will bore their way into the top four off the back of De Gea as per usual and having a very strong deep squad. I also think you'll see a tighter more balanced Chelsea now that Kante's about to return so don't write them off. City also might well start to slacken off like they did after a rapid start last season.

Owlsy - We should have been challenging this season, a farcical summer put that to bed before a ball was kicked. Winning 3 games on the bounce, that should be won is good. The fact that it keeps us in touching distance of top 4 is fortunate, but being out of the title race every season by October is not good enough.
