Stockholm's Burning - Trouble In The Liberal Utopia.

Take a trip back in time to the 50's or 60's, Sweden was the poster child for a leftist caring society. The small culturally homogeneous population shared the same cultural identity of thrift and social responsibility. Paternity leave was the norm amounting to 18 months in the first three years of a child's life. Hospitals and public amenities were top notch, crime was low. What could possibly go wrong? Well successive leftist governments positively embraced multi-culturalism taking thousands of new Swedes from places such as Afghanistan and Somalia. Roll on to today and Stockholm has ghettoes which are effectively no go zones for the emergency services. The social cost of the hordes of culture enrichers is causing financial ruin. Sweden now is only second to South Africa for the number of rapes per capita.

The most fascinating aspect of watching this slow motion car crash is the degree of denial and Orwellian control of any discussion appertaining to the disaster that immigration has caused in Sweden. Will the Swedish population rise up and kick out their leaders before it's too late?

What country in Western Europe has allowed large numbers of immigrants and hasn't paid the price for it? I know that many immigrants live decent lives, work hard, and are an asset to the country they live in.... but it only takes a small percentage of wrong'uns (fanatics, loonies, call them what you like) to sour it for the rest.

The two Somalis in Woolwich (and the Chechens in Boston) are not typical of the immigrant populations.... but we have to find some way of keeping these people out of our countries, or expelling them when they cause trouble (Abu Qatada).

Just out of curiosity sake, do you also oppose the emigration of foreigners to Thailand?

And Thai wives/husband/partners to your homeland?

BTW, the two murderers in Woolwich yesterday were British born of Nigerian Christian descent who converted to Islam.

What's happening in Sweden is the after effects of the Eurovision song contest vote decision.

We all know how important the contest is to the Swedes.

I sense more boom-bang-a-bang to come indeed.

Yes, in a manner of speaking! Can you honestly say that the advent of large numbers of foreigners has not had an adverse effect on Thailand, particularly in Isan? We've brought money, yes, but we've also helped to disrupt the way of life Thais have lived for generations.... without bringing the education which will enable them to cope with the changes.

But there is little evidence that those foreigners include terrorists!

No, must mafioso, conmen, murderers, and thieves..... so thats ok then, right?

That is what uncontrolled immigration has brought in most countries.

Thailand, more than the EU countries, has tried to control immigration with visit-visas, work-visas and various resident-visas. However those you quote are not socially responsible and ignore the restrictions placed on the visas. Plus the lack of will by the authorities to trace and deport these offenders, who buy immunity.

In the EU there are no visas for citizens and the same failure to chase up on those who have visas. Plus, in the case of the UK, the facilitation of illegal immigrants by the French, who are quite willing to host illegals temporarily, provided they move on to the UK quickly. London at the moment is infested with Romanian gangs of robbers, drug runners and the like - this six months and more before we open our borders to them and their Bulgarian neighbours.

As in Thailand, the vast majority of legal visitors, whether temporary or permanent, are law-abiding and a benefit to the communities they reside in, but these anti-social elements are better caught and expelled quickly, before they build up networks of contacts that work on their behalf - from immigration lawyers to social do-gooders and bribable officials.

Complete <deleted>; where do you get your information from?

bah.gif It's actually somalian pickpockets who are the most prolific in Londons west end at the moment. The romanians are mostly train & tube beggars. My sister is stationed at charing cross so I got this info from a direct source.

You've forgotten the paedophiles.

Exactly, it does beg the question, why did they do it? I suppose immigrants in general tend to vote for left wing parties so said parties are immigration friendly in order to change voter demographics in their favour. Then there's the fact that neo-Keynesian economics with permanently high debt levels needs an increasing population just to keep the economy afloat through ever expanding credit.

But why didn't Sweden tap the East European market, or even the Philippines for domestic labour? Instead they have Afghans, Somalis, Turks all of whom have far more difficulty assimilating than Eastern Europeans would.

Correction: the Woolwich killers were not Somalis, but British-born Nigerians raised Christian, and converted to Islam. Not immigrants either.

Seems my point is being deliberately overlooked or is perhaps its just aa bit too uncomfortable to tell people to "go home" when you are yourself a visitor perhaps?

I just always find it interesting how rabidly anti immigrant so many thaivisa members who then go and turn around and complain because they are treated like visitors here. Can't have it both ways IMO

Several sources - here's a few:

Romanian crime in London :

http://londonmigranthub.wordpress.com/2013/04/24/romanian-immigrant-crime-wave-in-london/

Indeed, it was revealed in February of this year that an incredible 27,725 Romanians, out of the 87,000 that have come to Britain in the past five years, have been arrested by the Metropolitan police in London (one in three)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2285177/28-000-Romanians-held-crimes-UK-5-years--68-000-living-here.html

28,000 Romanians are held for crimes in UK over 5 years... and there are only 68,000 of them living here!

And so on and so on.

Heaven forbid you should describe all the nice folk who wash up in Thailand as mere "immigrants". They are a positive blessing to lucky Thailand, unlike all those dodgy types working their buts off in Western Europe or the USA. Hypocrisy...? Can't be, now where's my second wife, a third of my age, with my fourth Chang and my dinner....?

I accept I am a visitor (guest) here and do not try to change my host. If I am not happy then I can sling my own hook and go somewhere were I will be.

In the case of Sweden, immigration is not the problem, mass immigration is.

Isn't that the case anywhere? Small numbers of immigrants are easily absorbed; large numbers set up their own communities within the host state.

And there you hit the nail on the head not "British" but British Born of Nigerian ......................

Lets get to semantics and genetics here, they were not Anglo Saxon they were African that is a Fact.

There seems to be a totally different attitude to integration between the earlier Caribbean and India/Pakistan immigration of the 50/60's and the later immigration. One set integrated the other for some reason has not and actually seems to resent something.........

I personally pass the blame on the leftist "expect the state to do everything" attitude that they and their parents arrived under.

Well I'll remember that when cashing my unemployment benefit and housing benefits cheques from the Thai government, not to mention the extensive paternity leave benefits. If I hated Thailand enough to burn it's flag and assault any of it's citizens that disagreed with my take on acceptable behaviour then you might have a point. If that were the case I would expect the Thai government to deport me pretty quickly. P.S If they caught the Swedish disease they could refer to rioting retirees as 'Old Thais', as oppose to 'New Swedes', thus shielding such geriatric miscreants from acts of racism, bigotry or (heaven forbid) xenophobia.

And here is a prime example of the way the Swedish Liberal elite deal with any questioning voices to the party line.

http://gatesofvienna.net/2013/05/out-of-whack/#more-28810

Moderaterna (The Moderates) represent what passes for “conservative” in Swedish politics, and are the party of Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. The party leadership recently came down like a ton of bricks on a party member named Olle Engström, who dared to raise the issue of mass immigration in public using less than glowing terms.
