A Starbucks café in Hong Kong's financial district that used water from a tap near a urinal to brew coffee has prompted a torrent of angry reactions from customers.

Personally I do not go into any Starbucks - not just because they are being boycotted in the UK, but because I find they do not give value-for-money.

But this is really stupid.

I realise that many are franchised and that it is the franchisee who is responsible for the plumbing arrangements, but do Starbucks not have any check on newly-opened branches?

(I also know that the franchisees in the UK pay their taxes and that the boycott is hitting their pockets more than Starbucks, but that's because of stoooopid press campaigns)

Storm in a teacup. No pun intended.

I am not a Starbucks fan either. As you pointed out Humphrey B they do not give value-for-money. Also, I find the coffee to be weak and relatively tasteless.

StarBucks, yuuuuukk.

Sorry for franchisees, but they are the architects of their own problems.
Remember once, waiting at LAX for a flite.
Grabbed a *bux coffee (????) cup of brownish liquid, complained there was little taste.
I was told it was 40c for a shot of flavour........ <deleted>.

Now I walk past StarBucks when looking for a decent java.
