A recent thread about eyeglasses lamented the closing down of long time local favorite Sawang Optical in Chaweng. Thanks to Mole, a number for them was posted. I can happily report that their same excellent professional services (equal to what I was used to getting from a good optometrist in the US) is now available if you ever go to Chiang Mai or Bangkok. Their number in Chiang Mai is 053-223440 or 088517770 over by Chiang Mai University (K. Numchai) or his sister-in-law K. Kannika (who used to have a shop across from the Dusit in Mae Nam until moving into the main shop) is now at Siam Square in Bangkok tel 0862829908

Had a nice couple of chats with them (they are happy there and their son is delighted with the change) and got a truly excellent new pair of specs fitted to a T. Good people.

Excellent. I got my current specs with k. Kannika and I'll visit her in BKK instead of CM.

I'm now in need of a new one since my eyes are getting very tired after using my current one.
