It's interesting that I can't find a single thread on TV where this procedure is mentioned. I need to get it done and it's not something I'm looking forward to. In the last 10 years i have completed 3/4 endoscopies. Meaning that the first two where done without sedative, the third was tried without sedative but at the last moment I jumped of the table, and the fourth was done with IV sedation. That's why not 4 out of 4.

But to stay on track, I need to get a manometry done and I'm looking for a good hospital/doctor who can get this done for someone who is pretty anxious about it. I heard that there was a difference in numbing the nose. Either gel or spray and one would supposed to be better than the other.

As a side question I would ask if anyone had the 24 or 48 Ph Bravo done in Bangkok. I know that Bumrungrad offers it but they are very slow with giving information.

I'm also interest to learn about prices.

TNX to all who can contribute

I assume you mean esophageal manometry?

If so then I think any of the major hospitals can do it, the challenge is to find a good doctor specializing in your particular problem. You have not specified but I assume it is some sort of dysphagia, or possibly persistent GERD for which surgery is being contemplated. If so then this doctor might be worth consulting: http://www.medeguide.com/mongkol-tanjapatkul He is at Praram 9 Hospital http://www.praram9.com/en/doctor_detail.php?id=113. I would expect they can do Manometry at Praram 9. I've no idea of the cost but in general this hospital is less expensive than say Bumrungrad.

No idea if they can do the PH Bravo. I know that BNH hospital does it; http://www.bnhhospital.com/en/cm/d/gastrointestinal/the_complete_digestive_medical_care/Bravo-Capsule-GERD-Gastroesophageal-Reflux-Disease You'd have to call or email them re cost.

It is usually possible to determine the presence of GERD based on endoscopy of which you have apparently already had 3, so not sure the necessity of the pH Bravo but anyway best to discuss with a specialist.

Be sure to bring complete records of all past tests and findings with you or you'll be starting all over from square one.

Hi Sheryl,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm looking to get the LINX procedure done.

I so agree with you about the PH Bravo. It has been established on more than one occasion that I suffer from GERD. I would think that the manometry is the only real important test. This proves that my esophagus is strong enough to swallow food through the LINX device.

BNH does it for 14.000 but I'm happy to pay more or less if I know that the physician is skilled in the procedure and can get it done with the last amount of discomfort. I read that the speed/accuracy of the initial insertion is most important.

I want to have the Manometry done this coming week. Depending on the result, I might have do Bravo done when I'm in Europe a week later.

tnx for your suggestion...giving Praram 9 Hospital a call now.
