I have attended Bumrungrad where the psychiatrist has prescribed me Olanzapine 10 mg at the considerable cost of over 300BHT per tablet.

I have stated repeatedly that I am on a limited budget so I am very surprised to learn a generic is available here.

I assume the generic is not available through Bumrungrad so would appreciate advice as how I would get a prescription for it.

I would suggest that you go to Meconsult Asia, you can google it. The GP there is British, but Thai licensed - I am pretty sure that if the generic is available, then she will be able to get it. I know that meds through there are cheaper than from the hospitals. As Olanzapine is an Anti-Psychotic, it's not going to be easy to buy it over the counter.

300nht a tablet is very expensive

It is category "S" which means sale on prescription only but in practice few Thai pharmacies sell rx-only drugs. Your best bet would be Fascinos and one other right near it (large place) that are located across from Siriraj Hospital -- but you will have to have a doctor's prescription to show.

Could also try the lareg pharmacy on Suk around Soi 2, opposite the expressway.
