Er, Smart (note the capital letter) is a branch of Mercedes Benz! So, who's really the dumbass??

These little beasties are popular in cities all over Europe, small and easy to park, not to sure about the crashworthyness though.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

Went out of business, production ceased after trying everything, including Smart4 - the same thing but for four people.

They are back in business as part of Daimler-Chrysler, big problem was they are overpiriced for what you get but the SMART cars are still popular for town/city driving and the brabus is popular with those that like "sports" cars.

Incorrect, production has never stopped of the Four2 (the pictured car)

The Roadster and Four4 has ceased production now as they were just too overpriced for what they are.

The Roadster development has been sold to a UK company now so after the "final version" from Smart comes out it will be produced in limited numbers by the UK company.

Infact Smart are working on some new models and a vastly improved MK8 Smart Four2 In 2007.

the smart, yup its owned by benz, like the mini is owned by bmw.

all over europe they are so popular, france....dayummm they are everywhere....

they are three main things why this car is smart!

first fuel consumption. what you will prob go like 25-30km/L?

its small, so its so convienent to park, (esspecially in europe-where parking buildings are non exsisting unless if offices. otherwise everyone stops on the sidewalk).

last reason is because is europe (not thailand) this car is relatively cheap.

so, good fuel consumption, cheap and also small, thus its smart it took them that long to figure out thats what most europeans need in their countries.... :o

I first noticed Smarts, including the roadster, on my only visa run to Penang. Saw a couple more in Ireland. Cannot recall seeing one here in Thailand. What does the two seater coupe sell for in Europe? What size engine?
