Recently did a visa run to Hong Kong. I have a tourist visa already and simply exited Thailand to HK and back. I had some biz in HK.

Upon arrival in HK, as a UK person, I get a 6 month automatic visa from the HK imm. However, he, and his supervisor questioned my Thai Visa, issued by TC Hull, that was hand written. i.e official sticker visa but written in blue ink. It was none of their business so they let me pass

On arrival at back DMK, once again (the second time), the Imm lady, upon checking my visa, didn't understand the word prohibited! my visa had a stamp stating in caps 'EMPLOYMENT PROHIBITED' across it....... this caused some confusion and a gang of 5 imm officers taking turns to look at the passport and stamp. Having sweated for 15 mins, and a queue behind me, they simply let me in.

I noted that, HKIA has smoking rooms after check in, L&B Cigs in duty free for 120HKD a carton, and pay-in showers for 18gbp.
