Suing someone with no money?

Featured Replies

Does it make any sense to sue a foreigner in Thailand who doesn't actually have any financial assets, property or income in the country?

It would depend on what type of case you choose to pursue. If you you are suing on criminal basis then he would go to jail and you would not get any money.

If you are suing him on a civil basis you would get a court decision but with no assets and no income it would be a waste of your money. If you choose to sue you must show the agreement and that it was made in Thailand, or that either of the parties is a Thai or residing in Thailand.
