Yes, I've heard of them before.

Didn't realise that they were on Tesco's shelves though. Do you know how much Tesco's charge for a pound of 'em?

  • 1 month later...

Friend went to Africa on vacation and when he came back he had a bump on his wrist. A few days later it started to move and he was showing all his friends. Some kind of fly larvae was inside him and when he went to the doc, the guy happened to know about it. They put a piece of red meat on his wrist and wrapped it up. Apparently the critter needed to breath occasionally and it ended up in the steak.

Yes they're maggots

I really didn't want to see that.......

Quick, some one make 17 more posts.

okay...mca wins! Sure begs the question of what is going on there.

I believe they're used in medicine to eat dead tissue. Still frigging gross though!

Yes they are, but that guy looks like he was just dragged out of the landfill! He certainly isn't wearing a tidy hospital frock.

EDIT: Looks this might be a common malady......

I remember when I was a lad my dad taking me to the local council dump to throw away some broken items and while he was busy I went exploring. Climbing up a pile of rubbish I slipped and put my hand out to steady myself. Put my hand straight into the half buried corpse of a dead rat engulfed with maggots.

Did I freak out? Nah................

The hairs on my arms are standing up as I type this 35 years later

@mca

Would it be wrong to say that I don't believe you and I'm not clicking on that one either.

I am incredibly squeamish, I had to drop Biology 'O' level as my vomiting was upsetting classmates.

You have my sympathies mate.

The only thing Im really squeamish about is anything to do with eyeballs. All squidgy and that. One of my ex-girlfriends wore contact lenses and seeing her putting them in or taking them out nearly had me bolting out the door screaming.

When I was about 23 I got a splinter in my eye and had to go to the hospital. The nurse just wanted to syringe my eye and they had to get two male nurses to hold me down. I felt a right <deleted> afterwards. Strapping lad in his bike leathers whimpering like a little girl.

I'm there......

The frog meet scalpel lesson was the start, the bulls eye meet scalpel lesson was the end.

It was a shame really as I enjoyed the subject and was quite good at it, but when it came to sticking sharp things in to squishy things, I had to bail out.

Click this then mate. It's a picture of a puppy frolicking in a field of flowers. Ignore the link title. It's a misprint ( snigger)

Today's "To-Do" list..... 1. Research ways to avoid genital warts. 2. Tell Thaddeus he did the right thing to stay away from that link!

Looking at those photos it does beg the question how bad do they have to get before those blokes thought "Hmm better let the doc have a glance at this." <deleted>!

Christ that's the worst thing I've ever seen mate!

Thaddeus if you're on this thread again I guarantee you don't want to click this one. It's the stuff nightmares are made of.

Good thing all this stuff is in Bedlam. Normal people would never be able to handle this thread.

Thanks for the warning earlier MC, as such, I am not clicking on anything in this thread.

(I may even not open it any more, yes, I think that's best)

Just seen some real nitemare stuff.... eye maggots etc.

This vid is peaceful, nice music, BUT I have flown into this airport many times, THIS is nitemarish to me even as a passenger.

Nothing to worry about for the squeamish.....

Hope it plays in other countries.

I'm not falling for that.

In this thread if the link was called Puppies and Kittens, they would likely be in a blender.

It's okay. It's an instrument approach in clouds with lots of hard things sticking up. No organic content at all.
