Koh Samui Has it's first "Green Market" this weekend, details are as follows:

Date: Saturday 21st September 2013

Time: 9am to 12pm

Location: West of Bandara Resort ,Bophut, on opposite side of the road and in front the 'Island Girl' and 'Favourite Things' shops.

This is a community project - which means we can all contribute - by bringing locally produced, locally sourced, locally made stuff to sell.

On the day there will be Organic and Chemical - Free products, Delicious Baked Goods, Produce and Fruit and Vegetables... as well as Health, Beauty and Household Products.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Thank you!

We are expecting 20 vendors on the day...so not a bad start, hope you come and check it out on Saturday:)

We certainly hope so, there seems to be the demand, all we have to do is provide the supply, which appears to be happening.

This event is obviously the first held here and part of the time spent on Saturday morning will be planning for the next one, how often they could be held, venues, that sort of thing...with the interest being shown at the moment there is no reason to think that they should not continue.

Sounds awesome, reminds me of something we do locally where I'm from. I'll definitely be down to have a look. Good stuff :)

It would be great to do this on a regular basis and with the response so far, that could most definitely happen.

See you on Saturday....don't forget to bring your own bag to put all those lovely "Green" things in, we won't have any plastic bags there:)

Don't forget it's Samui's first "Green Market" this morning from 9am to 12pm, at the front of Fabulous Things in Bophut....see you there!

I did make it by ... my criticism and I hope constructive ... to many items not showing prices.... sad.png .... no price .... no buy... I don't like to ask!

Seemed there was a good turn out... at least when I stopped in ... It would be interesting to hear comments from others. wink.png

Fun event with lots of friendly faces. Mix of products with only some of the booths selling actual vegetables, fruits and herbs, others with healthy prepared food products and environmentally good commercial stuff. Still, a great start and nice to see it being supported by some of the islands 'green' businesses (health resorts/spas) with healthy food offerings. Hope it will be the start of a continuing 'farmer's market' on Samui.

Thank you for your feedback, it was an amazingly successful day, with a great atmosphere and big turn out...thank you to everyone who came along!

The point about pricing has been noted and will be passed on to the organizers, shame you didn't ask though, I did and was rewarded with veg at half the price and twice as fresh as those found in the supermarkets on the island, even got a few free samples:)

The next one is being arranged as I write this and will let everyone know when and where.

See you there!
