“Our raids caused ladyboy prostitution in Pattaya to be wiped out,” he said.

I went out last night with friends (party of 3 men) in Pattaya. While walking on Beach Road back to our hotel, a 500 meter walk, we got hold up 7 times by Lady Boys offering us their service. We've counted over 20 ladyboys in 500 meters.

My friends staying in Pattaya for 2 weeks now, told me it was as usual. When I took the bus from Bangkok (Ekkamai) to Pattaya there were about 10 ladyboys out of 25 passengers. Three times during the trip moved from theirs seats and tried to contact me, asking me if I wanted to be "it's" boyfriend. Even on the trip to Pattaya, farrangs are getting hurrassed by them.. So if the old load of ladyboys all got arrested, they have been replaced with a new load.

On the bus back to Ekkamai, I haven't seen any ladyboys.

I still have a question??? Why are there in Thailand so many ladyboys, more than in the rest of the world? Has Budha made a mistake? Ladyboys are a disgrace for the nation.

Well... at least they seem to feel good about what they say they are going to do.

"Honey? Mother is coming to visit for the weekend."

"Thanks for the heads up, Darling. Did I forget to tell you I just happened to be invited on a bike cruise this weekend?"

Phuket would be a great place if the police did their job all of the time and not just when there is a PR stunt happening which warns all the crims. The smart ones will be on holidays till it's over.

The world is watching you Thailand!

And what is it the Police DO when they are not ordered to DO their JOB???????????????????????

Same as the Tourist Police...play Sony Playstation.

I actually had to wait one evening to speak to a tourist police,

because the two in the office were playing a game on a Sony playstation console.

I thought it was strange, but after taking ninety minutes of their time to explain the situation I needed sorted out,

they took me to the main police station, to handle the complaint formally.

And what were they doing?

Playing games on the TV with another Sony playstation.

After comparing scores, we were able to get down to business,

which involved the tourist police explaining the situation,

and the the Royal Police questioning me to confirm the complaint.

Finally they called in the defendants,

and it was all huges and hand shakes,

smiles all around.

What a waste of time.

Four hours in all,

after I left, I'm sure they all sat down and resumed their prior game playing,

as if my presence was just a distraction or exercise.

At the end of the day, don't bother with Tourist Police,

waste of time. Take the issue straight to the Royal Police,

but make the visit during the day hours,

and hope they aren't in the middle of a game tournament.

You just might get the results your seeking...maybe???

2100 plus arrests in less than 2 days. Wow, Mexican border towns look safe in comparison. A negative travel advice should be issued by foreign embassies. Just avoid Phuket and Pattaya where 90% of taxi drivers seem to be criminals and 1 in 4 inhabitants are rounded up. The authorities may call it a success, marketing people for the travel industry would call it a disaster.

Just wondering what they do when they are forced to crack down on the people who have paid protection money to them already, do those people get a refund before going to jail blink.png ?

The numbers were: 35 hotels and guesthouses fined for not reporting details of guests to Immigration; 276 foreigners arrested for overstaying; 48 foreigners arrested for working illegally; 177 arrested after being found to have entered the country illegally; 27 for working illegally as guides; 742 arrested for providing unlicensed taxi services; 411 arrested for involvement with illegal drugs; 123 arrested for copyright piracy; 45 caught for illegal possession of guns; and 293 for pimping.

Wow. What a litany of truly scary malfeasance.
