It saddens me to say that I have become accustomed to Birdy 3-1, and I have reduced my massive coffee intake down to two cups a day .............. probably because I drink Birdy 3-1.

ND, perhaps you can turn the auto-correct thingy off? But, I'll admit, I like the look of those iPad-type devices, and they're devilishly clever with some of their features. However, I'm damned if I'm going to be forced to learn their OS, Win 8 or anything similar in the near future. (I had to be crow-barred out of DOS, for gawd's sake.) No, Win 7 is the furthest I'm prepared to go on the WIMP side of things. Besides, what is the point of going out and socialising when 50% of the people are fiddling with their smart phones and 49% are mucking about with their tablets.

For mine, 'putering is something that should be done between consenting man and machine in the privacy of their own homes.

I've Win 8 and they keep trying to get me to get Win 8.1. <deleted>. On my old computer i had Win 7 and was used to it. This took time.

Yes you r right Ping on all counts. This is the problem, I'm an old dog, these things are new tricks. Mrs never die, or miss technology as I refer to her lives for this crappppp, not only are the devices ever changing but the constant updates that seem to change all the screens ever so subtly, leave a poor old bastardized like me in a state of complete and utter confusion...... Apparently she doesn't like my whisper quite mutters of frustration where I often refer to one thing or another as a rotten EXPLETIVE THIS AND EXPLETIVE THAT, however just as I get use to one setting or system the <deleted> ghost of Mr Jobs reappears and confuses the living <deleted> out of me all over again. IOS this and that, crike!

Anyhow, just ignore my usual muttering, as I know most of you do, I will attempt to stay on top of the game but as you know I always finish a couple of laps down on the leaders.....far from the sharpest tool in the shed!

Ohh yeah, the other day I bought a new telephone with buttons just so I could make a phone call as all these I devices seem to do everything but allow me to push numbers 1-9, in various sequence to make a freakin phone call. The world has gone mad, completely raving mad.

And just for once, I shall actually reach the finishing line of the Sydney to Hobart as I'm already almost completely parked up in Hobart alraedy and with no thanks to any bleeding I device I will have you know.

Well, the Klown is like one of those jumping-jack thingies that you beat with a mallet; he pops up, gets whacked on the head, disappears and then pops up again a few months later.

I don't think Tiggs has dropped by for three or four years now. When he left, he said he was going to be busy (I think for twelve months or so), but he hasn't been back since then, as far as I know.

As to Eek, I didn't even realise she had gone missing. I hope everything is okay.

You see, there is a life outside of the asylum (not much of one, but a life nonetheless)...

Eek is just fine I'm hearing....oh and I might have to relocate permanently to Malacca....the slow pace of Chiang Rai and better riveside dining.....oh and the fruit juice.....mmmmmm!

Best coffee in LoS was a place just along from Amari Rincome Hotel in Chiang Mai.

I had the best cup I've tasted in Thailand in a place off the old Chiang Mai Road...1211... about 12km out of Chiang Rai this very Sunday gone.

I take it "Americano" style, no milk or sugar, and it was thick black and strong with not a suspicion of bitterness.
