Plenty of dogs use the pub I like to frequent....but with a mosque going up nearby you have to wonder.....

I was going to start a poll but I doubt there are enough muslims good or bad here.

In Saudi, Libya and the UAE I cannot remember any of my muslim friends keeping dogs in the house. Often the farmers had dogs in the yard to chase rats, but that's about it.

In Bahrain I used to go on dog-shoots with the local army. There was a plague of wild dogs.

In Iran I recall walking one night to the Westinghouse club in Shiraz and suddenly realising that there was a pack of about 50 wild dogs in the long grass around me. I could have done with a gun then. But they must have been well-fed, as only a few even raised their heads to see if it was meals-on-wheels time.

My daughter has just got a rescue dog from Wood Green Centre, for her kids. I advised that she keep the dog outside, but she wanted one that could stay in the house. If I had a dog now, it would stay outside.

Man's best friend, but evidently some people don't want friends. I hope they don't go blind.

i admit it's a rare view to see a Saudi with a dog. but if you see one the dog is for sure an indigenous "clean" Salouki.
