^ MJP....

That's a neat pic!

A tri-tone...wow!

It's a mess!

It's interesting though! thumbsup.gif

Yes SJ...it IS interesting. That's why I like it.

The photo to MJP may be a mess however...

to me it made me stop and have a serious look.

And...that's what a photograph should do.

Mess or not...it's good IMO.

On to a serious topic about post processing in photography...

bending the truth.

I'm not one to use photoshop that much...well OK maybe a

bit...usually to lift shadows, saturate or desaturate colours,

play with contrast and lastly clean up some chrominance

or luminance noise before a small amount of sharpening

which is usually no more than a 1/4 pixel radius with a +10

threshold or wherever. Before any resizing is thought of...

up or down.

The photogs who heavily PP a photo or series of photos

have their reasons for doing so and I understand that full

well. It's just that when I do my mainstream photography,

news & current events...this type of photography calls

for very little post processing. In fact it's even discouraged

in most cases....and here's why....

A 20+ year career and excellent reputation shot to hell for what?

One picture.

And it can also apply to the video shooters as well; have a look here...

Please don't get me wrong...I'm not advocating anti-postprocessing,

I'm just plugging using it with care.

Y'all can count on me to keep things on the lighter side of reality.

It was just a wee side-boob...a very wee sb at that...hah!

However...altered states? Yes...sadly.
