November 9, 201312 yr Grandstanding and lies are the first rule of politics. The rest is more violent, but never involves the instigators.
November 10, 201312 yr Did he ever get punished for his links to the Bangkok bomber that blew himself up? If I remember correctly wasn't Wisut's secretary found to have transferred huge amounts of money to the bomber from a bank inside parliament? Sorry to correct you, but that person was a female with the name Wisut Chaiyanarun. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/10/14/politics/PM-calls-for-caution-in-public-30140053.html I think you're the one not reading it correctly. The female referred to in the article is Wasa Theprian, the secretary to the House committee whom he hired personally. But to answer the original question, no...I don't believe either were charged with involvement. But you know Thai media...not so good on getting the full story or following up. I got a kick out of the articles that said Mr. Wisut knew the "business man" involved with the transfer and would clear it up with his party. One would think he would be offering his knowledge to clear that up with the police. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/10/15/politics/Wasa-businessman-in-police-detention-30140125.html Meanwhile, Pheu Thai MP Wisut Chaiyanarun vowed to resign if a Parliament contract employee could not defend her involvement in a Bt50,000 transaction. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/home/2010/10/14/politics/PM-calls-for-caution-in-public-30140053.html
November 10, 201312 yr Splendid idea going back to the land. On our farm in the U.K and also here too everything that went and goes back to the land has a professional term ''Dung.'' Indeed a fine term for the esteemed Visut and the rest of his cling ons.
November 10, 201312 yr Meanwhile, banana farmer Winsut said, if his banana yield is poor, he will lower himself to become a politician. He was told, all he had to do was follow exactly what was dictated from the man in Dubai, ask no questions, offer no creative ideas ...and he could make a lot of money.

November 10, 201312 yr Disgusting! Farming used to be at 80% in Thailand, far lower now. To talk in this way and be so belittlling towards what is a very much needed occupation shows quite clearly how little integrity those in power have left. On the other hand, Thailand really needs more educated farmers.....

To talk in this way and be so belittlling towards what is a very much needed occupation shows quite clearly how little integrity those in power have left. All around me, for miles in every direction, farmland is being covered over by 1 meter of clay fill - to make way for apartments, housing clones, and malls. Thais can't yet perceive it, but their overall farm acreage is lessening week by week. All that's left for new farms, are hills, and those hillsides getting scraped are steeper than they used to be. So, besides wildlife losing every battle, hills too are getting whittled away to provide clay 'fill' for former farmland, and the hills which are left are getting cleared for crops, sometimes as steep as 40 degrees!. Such steep slopes can't maintain, and the next few monsoon rains will flush what little soil remains - downstream. And every rai of former farmland which is covered by cement and asphalt, is another rai that can't soak up flood waters. Is it surprising that flooding gets worse each year?
