Hello All,

I am a permanent resident from Australia and I am considering bringing my TG over to Australia for 3 months. I belief the correct visa for that is a tourist 600-visa.

She will be lodging the application in Bangkok. Could anybody advise me of a good visa agent in Bangkok? I am reading some horror stories on here... Thanks a lot!!

Cheers

Your girlfriend could do a lot worse than speaking to thaivisaexpress, they have a very good reputation.

Whilst they are based in Pattaya they have a number of satisfied clients in Bangkok.

They are sponsors and contributors of this forum and their contact details will be to the right of the screen and in the link provided.

An agent does not need to be based in Bangkok we are submitting visas every Friday at VFS Australia.

All our tourist visas are on no win no professional fees, feel free to contact me if you require any help.

Thanks for the responses so far - appreciated. I am not sure if this post has now been moved to the relevant forum, but I apologise for placing it in the wrong section.

Main reason for wanting to use an agent is because of my girls situation. She worked in Pattaya. And no she didn't work in a hotel, bank or any other more legit employment. She worked in a gogo but stopped worked there a few weeks back and is back home now looking for a normal job back in Bangkok where she used to work.

Therefore I think I might need some advice on how to best handle this situation. This because I would imagine she better not put a gogo on her employment list, and obviously she cannot get a letter from her current employer stating she can return back to her job....

Any suggestions or tips...? If possible I would like to avoid the fees for an agent but in these circumstances it might be wise to get some advice, as I am sure I am not the only one....

Thanks a lot in advance.

I don't post here much, but read a lot.

The agent above is a big contributor on the Forum and always has some great advice.

Considering your partners recent employment history, you might need some external help and you could do a lot worse then going with them.

Paul and Tony at Thai Visa Express are honest, professional and competent.

The same cannot be said of some other visa agents in Thailand; whether run by Farangs or Thais (the draconian Thai defamation laws and hence the forum rules prevent me from naming names).

If anyone wants to use an agent, I recommend Thai Visa Express without hesitation.

So called Visa Agents are a rip-off. Contact the Australian Embassy, down load the paper-work, follow the directions -to- the- letter and do it all yourself, you'll save a heap of money and most important, if you follow the directions, you'll get it right First Time.

You will find all you need and more from the post started by David48.

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/534835-australian-tourist-visa-application/

You will also get a lot of people saying you will have no chance because of your

girlfriends work history, which is crap.

At the end of the day, it will all depend on the strength of your application and things

like how long have you known her, reasons to return home, her travel history (if any),

finances etc etc.

To be honest, a tourist application is pretty easy and if you want you could give some more

information about the relationship to get some feedback.

Having said that, not all people are good with paperwork and it's then that a good agent is a godsend.

Like krisb said, "no visa no fee" sounds pretty good.

Good luck.

PS Some of the horror stories you've read about are probably guys that have come to Thailand

for a 2 week holiday and then want to bring a girl back to Oz after "knowing" her for 5 minutes.

no1977, you've been given good indicators as per your original request.

Either complete the application under your own volition or seek a reputable agent's advice. The agent, I believe, has already been named and veracity confirmed by many.

Continual begging appears insulting.

Thanks all! Appreciate all the feedback - cheers.

I've touched base with some agents and will make a decision on using them or not shortly.

Thanks again and will keep you posted! H

We got the TGF visa direct, pretty straightforward through VFS and they are helpful.

She does not work but we are having a house built so good reason to return which is a major concern.

Always helps if she has been overseas before and obviously returned.

Date stamped photos of us going back 4 years seemed to help too.

Although I'm from the UK I did provide a letter of 'sponsorship' stating I would be responsible for her welfare, expenses, etc.

If you don't have this kind of back up then the agency quoted are probably a good bet.

Main reason for wanting to use an agent is because of my girls situation. She worked in Pattaya. And no she didn't work in a hotel, bank or any other more legit employment. If she is doing a normal job now, then you don;t have to worry about anything. Just do not mentioned gogo. Simple as that. You can save money and apply yourself as it is a very simple process.

However, you need to think about sponsoring someone to come to Australia as you may need to wait for approx 7 years to sponsor anyone else if things don't work out. Can someone correct me on this?

It would probably raise a red flag if sponsoring multiple GFs for tourist visas. However, I believe you are referring to the five year limitation introduced by the Howard government for fiance/partner sponsorhips. i.e. If you have previously sponsored a partner or been sponsored as a partner in the previous five years. There are exemptions, detail is on the application form at the URL below.

simple1 above is on the right track there ... thumbsup.gif

But aparasher ... you are confusing the concept of a 'sponsor'

In a Tourist/Visitor Visa stream ... you're not 'sponsoring' someone ... providing financial support and accommodation if required.

That's all the OP is about.

You are quite correct about sponsoring ... but that's refers usually to a 'Partner' Visa ... a much higher level Visa.

Not for a tourist visa, which was the OP's question, will take a week or so.

Oops, misread the comment. Don't have the answer to that.
