Gmail = No automatic download of mail /Andriod

Featured Replies

Used to run perfectly. All of a sudden new mails download themselves into the inbox.

Plus using the Refresh button it takes for ever to download even the smallest text mail as if gmail is searching for the server. Tried to stop application , it does not accept.

Any suggestions?

Restart phone. If this doesn't resolve then look to a 3rd party app like K9.

Restart- no change. Searched for app K9 , nothing usable, can you help with a link?

Have you checked to make sure that your Sync Settings haven't been changed inadvertently?

If you still want to try K-9, in the Google Play Store, it's called "K-9 Mail"

SYNC! you were so right, embarrassing! Thanks a lot!

My Gmail keeps working fine. Must be something with your phone settings.

Settings, Accounts, Google, press on account ([email protected]), check/uncheck appropriate or desired apps. for sync/no_sync.

You may see an error message associate with a sync operation on one or more apps.

If you have issues un-check, then re-check, and then re-start the phone. This should clean up any sync issues or errors.

That said, I've got a lingering sync issue on Calendar that I've been unable to rectify.
