"PM Yingluck Meets the People" program goes off air to make way for election

BANGKOK, 14 December 2013 (NNT) – The government spokesperson revealed that the government has already pulled out of the air its weekly “PM Yingluck Meets the People” program to avoid violations to the election law.

Government Spokesperson Teerat Rattanasevi said the televised “PM Yingluck Meets the People” program had been put off air following the dissolution of Parliament.

“PM Yingluck Meets the People” program, airing between 8am-9am every Saturday on NBT, was formed in mid-2011 after Miss Yingluck Shinawatra took office.

Mr. Teerat added that there would be no replacement or other TV programs funded by the government at this moment as the election law prohibits the government from using state media to host programs deemed an advantage over its rivals in the forthcoming general election.

Well at least one good thing has come out of all this mess.

That said, this show is off air and she's a no-show at her own reform forum, could it be that PT have realised the less she says the better for the party?

If we're in the runup for elections it would be unfair for TV channels to give her more airtime than other candidates.

Although she'd be appearing in her capacity as the prime minister, it's still close enough to campaigning that the election commission might object.

It appears that her capacity as a Prime Minister is/was extremely limited, mostly scripted appearances, and more often on TV than parliament. Apt for a PM whose image exceeds her substance, which was barely sufficient to cast a shadow.

No Sir! Presently being simulcasted on TrueVisions channels 30 and 110. Broadcasting 24/7 for the past three weeks or so...

Seems like it's taking an awfully long time to determine a winner...

Anyway, it's absolutely can't-miss, riveting entertainment--the only time I change the channel is when the drugs wear off w00t.gif

It is a nice title, but it isn't as if she shows up for the show anyway.
