Renting In Bkk

Featured Replies

D-day is looming for me and I still haven't found anyplace to rent/move into!

Does anyone know of any estate agents (if they are useful!!) to which I could use to find a property to rent?

What are the best area's for an expat to live?

What are best to rent houses or apartments?

Average monthly rent?

Any help please will be appreciated.....

depends on your needs etc .... need alot of info to make those judgements ... but close to a skytrain station and far from lower Suk seems to be best :o

It's just me, myself and I for the time being! Hot water and a decent toilet is what I am after and good commuting within the city!

any further info required??

There are loads of threads in the forum already (I used them myself), have a shufty. Also check out www.mrroomfinder.com I found that very useful. Good luck.

Most Expats who want to be near to the centre of town live on one of the soi's off Sukhmvit, Sathorn or Silom.

House or Apartment...it depends on what you want, a house will give you more privacy, potentially more space and probably a garden but you'll have less security, you're unlikely to have many facilities and depending on your budget you won't have a pool. An apartment will generally be the opposite of that.

Budget....when I was looking around 9 months ago I saw places in the price range of Bt50k - Bt130k a month. It seems like you pay quite a premium in Bkk for a newly built or newly renovated place but generally speaking the newly built apartments are a lot nicer to live in. Some of the older places I saw were quite run down or had really hideous furniture in them. The lady who helped me find a place was called Yui, who runs her own property agency, she was very good and speaks excellent English. If you PM me, I'll email you her mobile number.

I am in an area with some new buildings starting about 6k a month and going up ... for AC ... hot water ... a few channels of cable (or you can get UBC) hot water ... 24 hour security.staff .... all about 400 meters from BTS
