Pheu Thai denies offering 50-million baht bounty for Suthep’s death

BANGKOK: -- The Pheu Thai party has denied a press report that the party has offered a 50-million baht reward for anyone who kills protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban.

Four labour unions vow to join Bangkok Shutdown

BANGKOK: -- Four labour unions have agreed to join the People’s Democratic Reform Committee’s “Bangkok Shutdown” plan on January 13.

A joint statement of the labour unions of Thai Airways International, State Railway of Thailand, Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives and the Civil Aviation Institute which was issued on Wednesday said that four unions agred unanimously to join the shutdown in order to bring about national reform and eradication of the corruption scourge.

The statement said that unionists should exercise their right to take leave and to join the protest. They are urged to gather at their head offices before marching to their rendezvous at Lat Phra intersection.

RS wins first round of court battle over World Cup broadcast right

BANGKOK: -- An Administrative Court case judge said Wednesday that the announcement of the “Must Have” rule by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) which mandatorily requires Free TV stations to broadcast live all the 64 soccer matches of the World Cup should be scrapped.

South alert of possible car bombs following several car thefts

Security agencies in the Deep South have been alerted of possible car bomb attacks in the restive region following the disappearance of at least eight cars with a short period of time.

The Centre for the Prevention and Suppression of Car Thefts has reported the theft of eight cars and several motorcycles in five southern provinces.

It was suspected that the vehicles might have been stolen by separatists to turn them into car or motorcycle bombs to be used in the Deep South.

Officials and members of the public were told to watch out for the following license plates of the stolen cars namely Bor Ror 7934 Songkhla, Bor Ngor 2612 Pattani, Bor Tor 1517 Pattani, Bor Thor 4837 Pattani, Bor Chor 7925 and Kor Thor 6270 Pattani.

Aim_NT: Suthep said the party was first named Thai Rak Thai, got caught for cheating the election and dissolved, then reincarnated into People Power Then People Power got caught for election fraud and dissolved again. Now it became Pheu Thai
