Ubon Ratchathani will set up a council for youth

The northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani is to spend 100,000 baht setting up a council whose responsibility is to help solve problems concerning youngsters.

Ubon Ratchathani Deputy Governor Thani Plookcharoen (ธานี ปลูกเจริญ) said the children council was the idea of the National Youth Promotion Coordinating Commission as it saw the need to protect youngsters from social ills.

Mr. Thani said Ubon Ratchathani has already had several young volunteer groups with great potential to help build a better society. These children will run the council themselves while adults will give them support and advices, he said.
