He probably stands behind the door because it's the only space in the toilet no being used :D

Nah. He is just getting himself closer to the urinal where he can better inhale urine fumes.

According to him it is much better than sniffing glue or petrol. :D

OK. All points well taken.

Allow me one last shake of Percy at the porcelein. The older you get, the more you do it. As Billy Connolly said "When you are middle aged, never miss an opportunity to take a piss".

Dave you say that no one has to tip. That is true; but the first time I went in there I gave him a 5 baht tip which I thought was the going rate locally.

He looked at it as though I had handed him a piece of dog shit.

Hah!...........nice to see that you upped the trifle that you begrudged him biggrin.gif

Pattaya Fox...you made me laugh out loud. LOL Very witty. :D

In reality, as Dave says he is supporting his family without a wage from the BF. So give the guy a break, if you are not used to this kind of thing in Thailand by now then you have no reason to comment.

Tuky. Maybe but maybe not! :D The Blues Factory charges 120baht for a bottle of beer that can be bought in other bars from 35 baht upwards. Even with music (not as good I concede) like Wonderful 2 and many others, beers are maybe 55 baht.

When I pay BF prices I feel it ought to cover the cost of good clean and free pissoir usage.

I am sure that the man himself is very deserving of our financial support but so are several million other Thais.

Many kindhearted barowners in Walking Street shelter lots of distressed young maidens with heartbreaking stories of personal misfortune and acute financial need. :D

Perhaps you should start a charitable fund for them. :o:D

As I said before, I really don't want to get into a pissing contest on this - both literally and metaphorically :D;

Dave runs a great place with great music, and I do have a soft spot and high regard for Lam. I'm sure he wouldn't remember, but I used to promote him in a rock theatre in BKK some 25 years ago, and I also remember promoting The Michael Schenker Group, and bringing them down to Pattaya for a holiday, and Lam would jam with them in one of those old beach side live music bars - now long gone. :D

Anyway, to the subject in hand. You seem to be a lone voice in the wilderness, Thailandvisitor, but I'm sure there are many more farangs out there who feel the same as you, and me. Maybe many are reluctant to speak out for fear of upsetting Dave? :D This business of having a male loo attendant in the Gents is strictly a Thai thing, and if you go to Thai nightclubs, then it is par for the course, and you have to expect it and put up with it. along with all the other Thai things like bestowing hundred baht notes on the singers, buying garlands of floweres etc.. But I have come across very few, if any, night spots that cater for farangs (in Bangkok, Pattaya or anywhere else in Thailand),who have employed such men in their loos.

I suppose the guy is just trying to earn a crust for his family, so good luck to him. Maybe it is a 'situation' that cannot be reversed. :D

Just read it and ...... well thats it. :D He gets more compliments then complaints, he should'nt ask for tips.

I'm happy because in other bars some customers piss on the floor, wipe bogeys on the mirror and generally treat the place like a sihthole, at least my bogs are guaranteed to be clean, with paper and (normally) water.

I did'nt hire him my manager did (probably on commission from his tips), but i'm not going to fire him. :D

Fair enough - at least there is a reason for him being there.

Yes, to get the toilets cleaned for free whilst upping the manager's income at the customers' additional expense 'twould seem... :o

I personally regard these toilet-lurking Uriah Heep types trying to cajole tips out of customers as an intrusive nuisance. From the previous comments there seems to be no point complaining, as I would only end up pissing in the wind... :D

...In that case, maybe Daves's manager could invite the one armed, knife weilding, lesbian loving shoe shine man to join the loo team.... :D

Your certainly pissing in the wind with the comparison to bars like wonderful 2.

I can assure you now that they have a 3rd of the outgoings everymonth than i have.

Mods can you please close this thread as initially it was about the bar being on BBC which was a great surprise for me (also proud of Lam and the bar).

Its now been turned to criticising the place because theres a guy in the toilet!

Anyone who wishes to can start another thread slagging the toilet attendent off (i probably won't bother posting on it) but to please all I will put a little pot on the bar for the board members here full of 5 bahts so they can go and use the toilets outside (if they are working and/or there is'nt ****/ sick and **** everywhere).

Hmmm, he could also provide the team with a uniform!
