Popular Post Lite Beer Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 Satis Sehgal’s deportation proposal rejected BANGKOK: -- The immigration committee has rejected the proposal by the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) that Indian businessman Satis Sehgal be deported due to lack of evidences to prove that he is a security threat. The Isra news agency reported that the committee headed by Mr Prapass Boonyindee, deputy permanent secretary of the interior, met on Monday to consider CMPO’s proposal to deport Mr Satis, president of the Indian-Thai Businessmen Association and a core member of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee. Two representatives from the Department of Special Investigation and the National Security Council defended their case before the committee on behalf of CMPO. They alleged that Satis’s conduct for his involvement with the protests constituted a threat to the society in accordance with Article 12 (&) of the Immigration Act.The committee however disagreed with CMPO’s proposal on the ground that Mr Satis’s speeches delivered at protest stages mainly focused on his loyalty towards the Monarchy and, therefore, were not considered as a social or security threat which could justify for his deportation. The committee has demanded CMPO to find more evidences to back up its deportation proposal. Popular Post Prbkk Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 Clearly not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but probably the right decision. 6
khunken Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Great news. Sorrows will be drowned in ear medicine tonight. Actually it's the 3 stooges of CMPO who are an embarrassment to Thailand.
Popular Post trogers Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 They alleged that Satis’s conduct for his involvement with the protests constituted a threat to the society in accordance with Article 12 (&) of the Immigration Act. Seems CMPO and DSI have been and are still reading the law with tinted glasses, and political issues rather than real issues on crime and security have been classified as Top Priority. 3
Popular Post gerry1011 Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 I totally agree that this indian guy should not be deported. That would be far too lenient.Same as all the other leaders of these criminal protests aimed at overthrowing democracy, he should be thrown in jail. Let the police compile more evidence of his crimes and arrest him ! 3
Popular Post djjamie Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 Satis Sehgal. Legally in the country. Contributed to Thai society and paid tax. Chairman of a respectable organisation. Concerned that democracy would not be adhered too post ballot box. Nice one and essentially the correct decision. Jeff Savage. Western UDD terrorist supporter. Said on video he would burn down Central World (Central world burnt down 1 hour later) Jailed and deported. Nice one and essentially the correct decision. Connor Purcell. Western UDD terrorist supporter. No Passport. No money. Begging from his friends to survive. Lied about his job, lied about his past and lied about his predicament. Jailed and deported and essentially the correct desicion. 3 outa 3 aint bad. The UDD / PTP supporters have the audacity to demonize Satis. I will give the terrorist supporters one thing. A consistency in demagoguery. Fanatics seem to gravitate towards the UDD. Is that any surprise though when Jatuporn stated "We will paint the sky red. Blood red" or Nattawut telling his supporters to "Burn them. Burn them all folks" Congrats Satis. It is your tax money that has gone into the pockets of the terrorists and to the regime. Time to reclaim democracy. Well done. 22
rametindallas Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Never thought this was ever going to happen.. Right or wrong, its opened a huge can of worms for the future. There will be plenty of nutjob falangs willing to.protest. Should be fun As the Thais say, "Farang, baa". Most farang living in the Kingdom are a little nuts. You don't have to be to live here but it sure helps. signed, Nutjob Farang. 1
Davidhere Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 The immigration committee has rejected the proposal by the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) that Indian businessman Satis Sehgal be deported Considering the makeup of the committee (including Chalerm's Labor Ministry's own Director-General), it's a bit of surprise they decided to kick Chalerm in the groin. Section 6 : The immigration Commission will consist of the Under Secretary of the Minister of Interior as Chairman and the following members : - Under Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Director General, Police Department - Director General, Labor Department - Director General, Public Prosecution Department - Secretary General, Board of Investment Committee - Secretary General, National Security Council - Director, Tourist Organization of Thailand - Commander of Immigration Division as member and secretary 1
Popular Post Davidhere Posted February 12, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 12, 2014 I totally agree that this indian guy should not be deported. That would be far too lenient. Seems Chalerm isn't the only one suffering a kick in the groin. 6

Democracy is voice of the people, yet you want to stifle the voices that don't agree with you. I think you have confused democracy with totalitarianism. 'A mind is a terrible thing to waste'. 15
taony Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Glad for the outcome, but why did they argue he is a security threat? Isn't the violation simply non-citizens can't protest? -*I typed this myself*-
Skint Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Don't agree with him protesting however getting booted out was not good either. Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand
