BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Tuesday blamed the delaying in overdued payment under rice-pledging scheme on anti-government demonstrations.

She said in a special televised programme that the leaders of protesters have seized the farmers as hostage in their political game to bring down her government.

They resorted to by all means and looked for every loophole to block the caretaker government from repaying the debts to the rice farmers, she said.

"I’m very upset and apologise to all the farmers who suffer from the delaying. The farmers are now in the middle of political game of the protest leaders who did not follow democratic and legal ways. They should have felt sympathised for the farmers who worked hard for the sake of the country," she said.

In order to alleviate the hardhship of the farmers, Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives agrees to extend a period of debt repayments for six months increase an amount of credit lines. Farmers who are not customers of the bank can apply for the extension, she said.

So, do wrong, then blame your accuser for a delay in making amends. Wag the dog is one of the oldest political tricks in the book.

Besides, the protesters are hardly to blame.

Why can't she just admit that she was wrong and that this project has failed. Take your losses and time to move on

simple, she could not able to show how much benefits she got from the failed rice programme. perhaps, a number she won't able to know neither.

An old Mongolian proverb which say

" If you want to know the road ahead, ask those who are returning"

An old Chinese proverb which say

If a man takes no thought about what is distant, he will find sorrow near at hand.

Confuse us.

Yingluck are you there?

Thais and most Asians know nothing about the concept of "sunk costs".

Are you old enough to post on this site?

Aye, we're all wrong and you, squire, are the only correct person here.

You can hand in your homework next week, after you've copied it from the 'Red Shirt Annual 2014' without plagiarism and in the correct context..

I once had a history professor at university that said; "Confusion is the beginning of all understanding" I don't know is not an answer.
