Buying A House

Featured Replies

I am in the process of buying a house for me and my thai girfriend. It was doing it through a company name and now my advisor lady as come back with... theres now a law that has just come out where you need to have 'shareholders' or whatever the name maybe, she has said that i could put it in my thai ladies name, for obvious reasons i dont want to do that. can anyone give me some advise on what to do next, thanks.

Go see a lawyer. Also read this forum as there are many many threads regarding setting up a limited company to buy land and house. FYI you do not need a company to own a house only the land.

I have bought the company from the person who owns the house, but the lady who owns a property company, who has been dealing with things, has just rung me back saying they have just brought in a law that states... you need 7 thai ( i think ) shareholders, is she correct?

All Thai limited companies need 7 shareholdes and the majority need to be Thai. This law is very old. You really need to read this forum as this topic has been covered many times.

I have bought the company from the person who owns the house...

I wonder how much this "person" knew about this 'new' law?
