February 27, 201412 yr Second Pro-PCAD Singer Forced To Cancel Concert This WeekBy Khaosod English. BANGKOK: -- Another famous pop singer allied to anti-government protesters is forced to cancel a concert due to pressure from the Redshirts protesters.Mr. Jirayut Wattanasin, popularly known by his stage name "Jo Nuveau", was slated to give performance at Tawanna 2004 pub-and-restaurant in Nakhon Panom province on 2 March. However, a group of United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) supporters marched last night to the bar with over 30 vehicles and force the venue to cancel the concert.Ms. Somsri Sommercon, a local UDD leader, said she is deeply angered by Mr. Jirayut′s support for the People′s Committee for Absolute Democracy With the King As Head of State (PCAD), which aims to oust Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.Furthermore, according to Ms. Somsri, Mr. Jirayut has made numerous remarks which insult the Redshirts movements and the poor across the country. She also threatened to organise a large protest at the bar if its managers refuse to call off the concert on 2 March. In front of the pub, the Redshirts held up signs denouncing Mr. Jirayut - one of them read "Nakhon Panom people don′t welcome any shop that supports the PCAD" - while their leaders gave speeches criticising the PCAD movements. The pub′s manager, Mr. Pattanagorn Johjong, later emerged to negotiate with the protesters for around 30 minutes. He told the Redshirts that the management was genuinely unaware of Mr Jirayut′s political affiliation and willing to cancel the concert if the Redshirts insist.Satisfied by Mr. Pattanagorn′s proposal, the Redshirts peacefully dispersed from the restaurant.Previously on 24 February, a pro-PCAD singer, Mr. Pongsak "Off" Rattanapong, was also forcedtocall off his scheduled performance at a bar in Chiang Mai province, after a group of Redshirts besieged the pub prior to his arrival. February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ...
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Khaosod - as always coming to the rescue to publish the cause of those who wish to stifle dissent.
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... So you also agree that the hated Shins are forced out of Bangkok.
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post What a terrible world it would be if the red shirts actually had power. No freedom of expression. Democracy red style, zero tolerance.
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... You've got to be joking. Come to think of it, I'm actually pleased that you've come out in the open to support fascism and oppressive fasicst's methods in dealing with the political opponents. What's next? Assassinations of all actors, artists, intellectuals, musicians etc...,eh?
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... Much hated. Is that a quantifiable measurement or your belief? If quantifiable, I look forward to seeing the statistics. May I suggest it is your belief being driven by an agenda. So democracy seems to only be trodden on when the PDRC remove red shirt supporter singers as in Phuket, but when a PDRC supporter wants to sign and is blocked it is not democracy being trodden on, but because he supports a much hated anti democratic movement. Exactly the same limitation of democracy in both instances, but one is OK and one is not. Demonize the protestors in one and demonize the singer in another. I would hope that all singers, all musicians (Eric Clapton cancelled today), all artists all citizens are able to express their opinion, their believe and share their music and art without being persecuted for they beliefs. Saying "Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement" is the baby steps to a dictatorship.
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... Like it or not the PDRC are part of a wider political movement and an essential and fundamental part of any democracy allows people the freedom to support whichever political ideology they like. The pros and cons of whether the PDRC are democratic or anti democratic is an irrelevance here as it is the underpinning principle of democracy that is at stake here. The freedom to choose your own path Actively preventing people from supporting and expressing their political view is inherently anti-democratic. So if you agree with or support individuals being sanctioned and demonized because of their political views you are no better that the 'anti-democratic movement' your previous posts indicate you despise so much. Right?
February 27, 201412 yr Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... Democrat movement against an anti democratic government------no stealing---democratic.

Right? "Actively preventing people from supporting and expressing their political view is inherently anti-democratic." You are so right, Suthep forcing the closure of polling stations in Bangkok and not allowing the registration of candidates in the south is very undemocratic I must agree.
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Actively preventing people from supporting and expressing their political view is inherently anti-democratic. Nice to see we agree that Suthep's movement, by blocking elections and preventing people from exercising their right to vote and express their political views, is undemocratic.
February 27, 201412 yr What a terrible world it would be if the red shirts actually had power. No freedom of expression. Democracy red style, zero tolerance. Such is the color of red. Plenty of examples around the world.
February 27, 201412 yr Good. Let these posturing hypocrites suffer the consequences of their flimsy attempts at publicity. Stay in their Liberace-inspired Thong Lor condos
February 27, 201412 yr Popular Post Good. Let these posturing hypocrites suffer the consequences of their flimsy attempts at publicity. Stay in their Liberace-inspired Thong Lor condos So that means you agree that people should step it up and confront individuals who have different views, nice guy you are!!!!!! Bet you supported Putin's anti-gay campaign as well??

February 27, 201412 yr Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... Obviously only hated by Thaksins brown red shirts.
February 27, 201412 yr Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... You are talking about the red shirts supporting the UDD and The PTP I guess.

Sorry to bust your pink bubble but the PDRC were the ones who said it was okay to cancel concerts based on political opinion: http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/sek-losos-concert-phuket-cancelled-due-protest/ A concert by Sek Loso scheduled to be staged in Phuket Sunday night was abruptly cancelled due to a protest by anti-government protesters. Oh, wait ...that was Gandalf in Lord of the Rings.
February 27, 201412 yr Khaosod - as always coming to the rescue to publish the cause of those who wish to stifle dissent. Could be true. Just like the venom being sprouted daily by The Nation on behalf of the yellows. Newspapers should not take sides.

Nice to see we agree that Suthep's movement, by blocking elections and preventing people from exercising their right to vote and express their political views, is undemocratic. You basically just copied the opinion of the post above yours after reading it. Shows you really don't have a mind of your own if you need to steal someone else's comments. At least Suthep can get up on stage every night sometimes for an hour and speak his own mind, and he has been doing that 7 nights a week for 4 months. You can't even come onto a forum thread without being unoriginal.

So, you suggest that if more than 1 person has the same opinion, they are brainwashed and have no opinion for themselves? What about the people sharing Suthep's ideology, then? I suggest you stop before you dig an even bigger hole. By the way, it's pretty much the opinion of every average Thai citizen that people should not be prevented from voting. I suggest you get out of the brainwashed zones and go ask around the country.
February 27, 201412 yr Getting an owner of a bar to cancel a concert does not fall in the realm of 'freedom of expression' to me. It is the realm of business relationships and requesting the owner to boycott this particular individual is not any different than the PDRC asking its followers to boycott Shin related enterprises. Boycotts are economic tools that are, in my view, a legitimate use of individual or public expression. No violence - just hurt people in their pocketbooks.
February 27, 201412 yr Should have thought about this before publicly supporting a much hated anti democratic movement ... All the more reason to support a group aimed at reforming the country and putting the thuggish reds in their place.

Nice to see we agree that Suthep's movement, by blocking elections and preventing people from exercising their right to vote and express their political views, is undemocratic. Wow - Talk about twisting the truth - Remove a single sentence from the context of the whole paragraph and use that sentence, that has be de- contextualized to imply that we agree! Is that really the best repost you have?
February 27, 201412 yr What a terrible world it would be if the red shirts actually had power. No freedom of expression. Democracy red style, zero tolerance. They do have the power and sucked the country dry for a good 500 billion from the rice scam alone. And if all go well, a stunning 2.2 trillion baht loan to divide in the coming years! The middle and upper management of the red mob movement have had a couple of good years financially and does not want to give that up!

We are not talking about blocking elections mate. Concentrate now. Concentrate. We are talking about singers and freedom to sing. We suggested that you where hypercritical in your comment and challenged you on it. Do you have anything to say on that? Concentrate now. Stay with us.
