Mongkut Wattana director appeals to thuggish gang to stop intimidation



BANGKOK: -- The Mongkut Wattana director has warned red-shirt thugs to stop intimidating him and his hospital saying that he is not afraid of them.

Writing in his Facebook page, Dr Rienthong Nanna said he would like the thuggish gang to be aware that when they and their peers became victims and came to the hospital for medical treatment and were treated until they were safe.

He said that he didn’t ask the gang to show gratitude to him or the hospital and simply wanted them to stop their intimidation and harassment. He added that he didn’t mind if the thugs didn’t want to use the services of his hospital but just wanted them to have conscience and are able to distinguish right from wrong.

Dr Rienthong further appealed to the thug to stop resorting to violence against the protesters, noting that they too could end up getting killed or wounded “but we have to save your lives and have to bear the medical costs.”

Doctors are always there trying to heal everyone, whether red or not. But these reds cannot help themselves. They always have to intimidate someone. Do we all remember when they stormed the hospital at 2010? What kind of animals go after people who are actually trying to help others? The attacking of medical professionals is the lowest of lower.

He obviously restrained from making official complaint or charges in order to try and stay a-political in his role as head of the hospital. Using the fact that he did not take legal action against thuggish Red mob causing him, his staff and his hospital problems, as a way for stating he must be "Yellow" is about as illogical as it can be.

Why not ask for a four lane highway to the moon? The chance of a bunch of red shirts feeling bad about threatening medical staff is probably about the same. People who cheer the deaths of fellow human beings because their political opinions differ are scum.

Most people that work in hospitals have better things to do than file complaints. We generally our more concerned with our patients well being. Irrespective of race, gender or political persuasion. I would not call that a credible source at all... and I'd never post it. I'd also never make the accusations your questions imply based on this article. We all take our cheap shots at politicians... but there is usually a bit of fact in them.

Every time I see the word 'redshirts' and 'hospitals' in the same sentence, I cannot but help remember that barbaric ritual several years ago, when the redshirt leaders started collecting human blood from their supporters, which they then proceeded to splatter and daub over Goverment House amongst other places. I find it bizarre that such people could be considered to run a country, other than to run it into the ground.
