I think Mourinho reserves all his emotions for his dressing room mirror and laminated photos of himself.

Never mentioned Liverpool FWIW.

I bet they need to be laminated as well.

All you need to do is check out results from the last couple of days to know its still up for grabs. It might well come down to whether or not Liverpool have the balls to deal with the end game pressure. Chelsea and Mourinho are vastly more experienced which should count in their favor but Liverpool still look to have the more positive approach to each fixture as it arrives.

Liverpool are playing the best football, riding their luck and don't look like they are about to crack. For now!

must be interesting loving a manager who is so obviously in it for himself rather than his team and who is pretty much despised by every half decent-thinking football fan. certainly nobody does self-publicity better than him.

Ah that old masterful debating tactic Stevie ... everybody who thinks different to me is a w**kerlaugh.png .

Well as i see it Mourinho and Rodgers have both involved the mind games this season in very different ways.

Mourinho has done his usual attempts at getting in the heads of other managers but this seasons has reached new depths, particularly in his comments about Arsene Wenger. Seem to remember he got nowhere really with Pellegrini either.

Brendon Rodgers however has focused his mind games by appointing a forensic psychiatrist to get in the heads of his players. Same doctor that worked with the GB Olympic cycling team. The Liverpool team as yet show no sign of breaking and have shown real composure when its mattered. Gerrard has been a talisman, Suarez's behavior a vast improvement than has been seem previously and youngsters like Sterling and Henderson playing with great confidence at times of increased pressure

So wheres the forward thinking. Employ a professional to coach your players or just use press conferences to slag off other managers in the hope of undermining them?

I'm afraid Mourinho is his own worst enemy.

May I remind you carmine.

Mourinho's reaction to Wenger's 'fear of failure' comment was a knee jerk, gut reaction from the emotionless, cold one.

It hit him in the nuts and it hurt. Wenger knew it would.

'8 years without a trophy at Chelsea and Abramovich has every right to kick my @rse. But I'll resign well before then."

...is effectively what he said.

BTW. I'm not a great fan of psychiatry or professional psychology either in business or football.

I prefer the Brazilian way.

You pays your money, you choose your opinion.

Your opinion is your opinion carmine. No problem.

But let me just add a bit of context.

Mourinho comes from a footballing family on the outskirts of Lisbon.

His native language is Portugese. The language used by the current most successful national team in football history. Brazil.

Eusebio and Portugal have had their moments too.

Mourinho is charged with the responsibility of providing success in the highly competitive, often cynical world, of modern day football.

His CV is very, very impressive and his mother still cooks him sardines in olive oil with a touch of garlic.

Jogo Bonito with the inevitable touch of pragmatism.

If Brendan Rodgers becomes the superstar of EPL management, I ain't complaining.

Nor would Mourinho.

Jogo Bonito doesn't belong in the same sentence as Mourinho.wink.png

What might amuse you is that Louis van Gaal, quite possibly the next Spurs manager is great mates with Mourinho, having given him his break when van Gaal was manager at Barcelona. Apparently they also are very similar in certain aspects of character. This obviously causes me great concern!

Who will win the Premiership?

Liverpool can win it or they can lose it, it's now in their hands, a fantastic performance whatever.

If they lose it then Chelsea will win it and Mourinho will be hailed as a god, winning it in his first season back.

Don't know about LVG, but Simeone is class.

Mourinho is welcome in my home carmine.

Have a good day.

I tend to get a bit out of order when i get too emotional.

Cheers matey.

Carmine digging out his Mourinho 78 record again. I have to wonder why he watches Jose's press conferences..............maybe Carmine is just a grumpy old man that is never happier than when moaning................... :-)

van Gaal might too by all accounts.

No one else is getting a look in. Don't worry about that and as Keith mad dog Simmonds will no doubt want to remind everybody, its not just about the moneylaugh.pngcoffee1.gif

Seriously though carmine, I do find the UNITED situation very interesting.

Guess UNITED will be quiet til after the WC.

Then it could be fascinating.

Its extremely interesting i agree but even he he succeeds in his objectives its still going to take time. Perhaps he's looking at three years to complete the transition, qualify for the CL and finish grooming off Giggs for taking over?

I saw an interview where he said he reckoned he needed two seasons. No guarantees in first season.

I think he talks sense and the truth.

Succession plan ? bit early to be thinking of that I would have thought. Got enough on his plate atm.

Fergie never got round to planning his succession and you know as well as anybody what that produced.

I'd give him 2 seasons to get UNITED motoring.

Might surprise us earlier.

Just seen this thread for the first time.

Not sure what the 5 pages are all about? Debate or diatribe or both. It matters not.

There is a very simple answer for the OP

Dark horses??

martinez at Everton, as usual will be doing all the right things and for sure at times will push.as per norm spurs will have their moments but ultimatly it will be yet another building season...

Fair points rij.

What interests me is will one team ever run away with the title again?

Will there be a team who dominates totally?

Obviously I would like Chelsea to do that. But I think those days are over.

However much money you throw at it.
