Nikkijah Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I've been looking into digital radios recently but was put off by my Dad who said where he lives in Spain there are no digital radio transmitters so he couldn't buy a digital radio?? Is this correct? I thought the whole point of dgital radios is that you can be anywhere in the world(within reason) and still pick up world-wide radio? Somebody shed some light on this for me please Thanks in advance!
lopburi3 Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 You are thinking about satellite radio (which happens to be in a digital format) rather than digital radio (land based which is another way of broadcasting that you do not have fade problems with - either you hear it or you don't).
Nikkijah Posted June 2, 2006 Author Posted June 2, 2006 I'm not sure what I'm talknig about really, I've seen these Acoustic Solution DAB radio and they seem like a good buy but I'm worried that I'll buy one, have it sent here and it doesn't work so maybe someone can inform me if satellite/DAB reception is possible in Bangkok? Thanks in advance
Guest endure Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 DAB and satellite are not the same thing. DAB won't work in Thailand.

Somebody shed some light on this for me please Thanks in advance! I had Satellite radio in the USA and it's fantastic... When I asked them about other providers they refered me to Worldspace Radio I'm definitely getting one, they have BBC, some US News stations and all the usual internet suspects... check it out... not as good as Sirrius in the US, but what else can you do? Internet is great at home, but on the move.... Anway, if you're buying in Thailand: http://www.worldspace.com/getws/retail/ret..._thailand.html# Pm me and I'll tell you how it is, once I get mine hooked up
