Roof fire leads to evacuation of South Pattaya Hotel

PATTAYA: -- In the early hours of Thursday 5 Fire Rescue Units were called to deal with a fire at a Hotel full of Thai and foreign tourists who were evacuated as a precaution.

The fire occurred on the roof of the Apex Hotel on Pattaya Second Road just after 1.30am and resulted in Hotel Staff evacuating all Hotel Guests as a precaution due to smoke spreading throughout the higher floors.

The fire occurred inside a storeroom on the roof which is known to contain documents relating to the business along with mattresses. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time but Fire Investigators assume an electrical short circuit was to blame.

I think the more cynical of us have developed a theory based on this paragraph. I'm guessing some tax and immigration records were damaged beyond recovery. Was there an audit in the offing?

A very "Yes Minister" moment. "Sorry those records were destroyed in the fire of 2014."

Mmm rooftop , matrasses , could have been staffs smoking place or hide from boss and sleep a bit

Actually if the whole Apex Hotel burnt down it would be an improvement and it is in a prime spot for a rebuild.

This isnt the only hotel in Pattaya, where the financial records were in a fire.
