PHUKET: -- Police are on the lookout for a 22-year-old Phuket student wanted for the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend’s new partner in a frenzied knife attack in Rassada early Thursday morning.

Officers were called to an apartment block in Soi Yongkeng Muna-Utit, off Thepkrasattri Road, near Phuket Rajabhat University, at 6:30am.

“There was a trail of blood leading from the 7-Eleven at the front of the apartment building to a room on the second floor,” Sub Lt Surasak Pipitkul of the Phuket City Police said.

Sunantha Muengyao, 22, told police that she was with her new boyfriend, Phuket native Muhammad Ritratree, 20, when she heard someone kicking the door to the room.

“Before she could answer the door, it burst open – kicked in by her ex-boyfriend Thakrit Jaiphet, 22,” said Sub Lt Surasak.

“Mr Thakrit killed Muhammad out of jealousy. They are all students at Phuket Rajabhat University. He entered the room and attacked Mr Muhammad with a knife.

“Mr Muhammad ran from the room, with Mr Thakrit in pursuit. Mr Muhammad collapsed in front of the 7-Eleven. Mr Thakrit fled the scene.”

Mr Muhammad suffered serious stab wounds to his face, stomach, neck and arm.

He was rushed to Vachira Phuket Hospital, but died from his injuries yesterday afternoon.

“We will check CCTV cameras in the area and question Mr Thakrit’s friends and family. We will request a warrant for his arrest,”Sub Lt Surasak said.

This is the consequences of getting your self into deeper love with a woman that does not value what you worth to her, all they value is what you have and not your love to her. The repercussion has gone on the opposite side of the game. R.I.P.

Load of <removed>, get a grip. We all make the beds we sleep in.

This is an example of what is a very high rate of domestic violence in Thailand, just read an article in the BKK post about this.

godwish4love you may want to see a mental health professional about that misogyny.

On the other hand it is almost certain she left him because he's a violent, jealous <deleted>.

Can’t believe these posts,

Most seem to assume that the dead guy had something to do with the girl leaving the attacker. ??

Most probably just a guy she met and then took the opportunity and decided to dump her bf.

She may have just been snacking a bit on the side.

RIP fellow man.

How Thais deal with jealously and losing to another man. sad.png

They really cannot except losing at all, can they? sad.png

Pitiful specimens.

Good then that this only happens with Thais.

Well, no, but certainly to the degree that it happens here. International football team walking off the pitch because they didn't agree with the ref's decision. Police man executing 6 of his colleagues because another got a promotion ahead of him, young man in a Benz driving into a bus stop of people and killing a granny because he collided with a bus and they blamed him and not the bus driver.... etc etc etc.

News report after news report of locals killing each other over petty issues.

I'm sorry for your need to defend such a pitiful social traits.

Same all over the world.

I am not defending any social 'traits', I am just pointing out to you you have a limited point of view. Shame you find it necessary to start acting aggressively.

Wish people would stop banging on about 'LOVE' or being 'IN LOVE'. This kind of human folly has nothing at all to do with 'Love'. People get insanely jealous or outraged because of deep psychological issues about low self-esteem or damaged sense of security from being abandoned in some way in the past.

"over the top, crime of passion" - this murder seems quite premeditated to me.

Hardly what I would call a spur of the moment, in the heat of battle, killing.

Even with all the blood over the room, he chased the victim. He definately wanted him dead.

The event was pathetic in every available sense of the word.

The commentary here has, sometimes, in its racism and sexism, risen no higher than the event.

Sorry we didn't come up to your PC expectations. I bet the dead man didn't think it was pathetic, probably thought it was quite serious.

Exactly how do you know this woman "does not value what you worth to her"...?

Pitiful specimens.

Either that, or,

They do not have a father figure to learn from...

Only other kids their age with no maturity...

I've seen Thai boys hold a grudge for years over the loss of a Thai bird. Their mind set never goes beyond the kindergarten

True.

It's a very sad culture. :(
