BANGKOK: -- A concert featuring artist Pongpat Watchabanchong scheduled to be staged at the Rong Beer Holland Thursday night was abruptly cancelled following a protest by red-shirt followers.

About 100 followers of the Nonthaburi-based People’s Radio for Democracy red-shirt group rallied in front of Rong Beer Holland restaurant on Ratchapruek road in Pakkred district to protest against the planned concert.

The protesters charged that Pongpat was not politically neutral and demanded the management to cancel the concert and to remove a poster publicising the concert which was put up in front of the premise.

Mr Sompong Boonpeng, the restaurant manager, held talk with the leaders of the protesting group and submitted to their demands by cancelling the concert and removing the poster.

You are right since freedom of speech and opinion is non-existent if you are not saying good thinfs about the Reds. His career is over in the North now. Not because he is a bad singer but because the PTP and UDD will scare anyone who hired him into cancelling his job. How is it again the PTP and UDD can say they are democratic party?

A UDD member would not be a true UDD member without satisfying their need to impose cultural conformity and intolerance.
