Where can I buy or learn to build an R/C plane set from scratch?

Hi forum,

I am a teacher in Chiang Rai and I'd like to build my own RC (toy) plane for a possible school project.

Is there anyone in CR who could teach me do it?

I know, I can find all the information on YouTube, but I would rather work with an experienced hobbyiest, instructor, or RC club. I'll pay all expenses.

Oh, I found this website called hobbyking.com, but I don't think they ship parts or planes to Thailand at reasonable import rates?

Kind regards,

Teacher KO

This is a good idea for a project. Don't worry, you don't need hoobyking to get started. There are a few good stores on the web in Thailand with decent prices and good service. On the internet you can find also a lot of good links for building support.

I build and fly rc planes myself and I can tell you that the building is just as much fun as the flying.

You start your post that you want to build from scratch, this means you have to start with a building plan. On the Web are many sides that have free plans, simple to difficult.

I have many links for rc flying, theyare on my pc however, and I am not home at the moment. I will pm them to you tommorrow if you want.

Hi DutchIssan,

I would be very grateful, if you could share your buildings plans with me. I am a total newbie.

Please allow for a quick question: If six students build the exact same plane with the exact same electronics, would the controlling frequencies not interfere with one another?

Cheers,

That will not be a problem with the radio systems that are on the market right now. Most systems will switch to a different frequency by them self when there is interference.

But please let me know how old these kids are where you do the school project with, this way it will be eaysier for me to locate a fitting plan for your needs.

There is one shop along Phaholyothin Road. Coming from night bazaar going towards Central/Robinsons, the shop is located on the left side just before reaching Sugar Beat Night Club. Small shop - has model RC planes in front.
