Thai Watsadu

Featured Replies

Thai Watsadu is open now. I only had a brief visit there So I haven't seen it all. It is quite big, but also a lot of space between product aisles. Got a good deal on a planer,20% less than Homepro's sale price. I am hoping this store will have some of the items that I usually have to go to Chiang Mai for.

Anyone else been there yet?

NO. Havent built our house in chiang rai yet ,but there is one opening near us in 2 weeks time and it looks huge .Can't wait.

I went in last week and bought a fold up table for a good price.

I was quite impressed with the selection although I did not go down the back to the building supplies.

They have a "designated" English speaking staff member.

Huge undercover parking area. thumbsup.gif

It's hard to miss once you are in the vicinity Brian.

Head south on the Superhighway from Big C, cross the Thoeng road intersection traffic lights and it is very close on your left, still heading south as if you were going to the White Temple.

I've been to one in Bangkok, to buy an electric drill and the selection was not very impressive for what I wanted for work. It is more of a Makro for builders than a DIY tool store. Nuts and bolts sold in little plastic packages etc. not in bulk. As I am not building a house I probably won't drive further to visit again.

That being said if one is into wandering around hardware stores!

They area lot cheaper than Home Pro and the staff are better at their job. Home Pro yesterday, Sunday had over 75 staff on the shop floor in addition to management and clerical staff. Their wages bill must be 25,000 Baht per hour! If they had seventy fewer staff their good would be a lot better priced and one could browse in peace and probably buy something.

Does anyone know where I can buy a small two drawer filing cabinet? I tried Thai Watsadu and Home Pro.

Macro didn't have any filing cabinets but the sell the drop files, so I bought those there. I found a filing cabinet that I was looking for in Chiang Rai Furniture.
