BANGKOK, April 23 -- Bangkok Expressway Plc (BECL) is opening a new expressway route from Asoke to Srinagarind next month.

BECL managing director Payao Marittanaporn spoke of progress on the Sri Rat Expressway connecting route (from Asoke to Srinagarind) to Chaturathit Road.

She said the work is 90-per cent complete and is expected to open for service on May 2.

The new route will help ease outbound traffic during eatern Bangkok's rush hours and facilitate those commuting from Sri Ayutthaya Road to Ratchaprarop Road, Victory Monument, Petchaburi Road, Din Daeng Road, and Makkasan passing through Chaturathit Road and continuing to the Sri Rat Expressway (from Asoke to Srinagarind), reaching Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Motorway) or Chalongrat Expressway to reach Ladprao Road and Ramindra Road.

Ms Payao said around 12,000 vehicles are expected to use the new route with a projected revenue at Bt7.5 million/month. The project's investment is over Bt250 million. (MCOT online news)

map?

Don't be a silly lad. That'd be too easy.

stupid ring around BKK.

wrong every time

They call it nr 9

Unless you are following it ,then the 9 disappears and they give you the choice between Samut Prakhan or Samut Sakhon?

In 2 seconds you have to decide and you never heart about none of them .

Then part of the "9" they call "outer ring road" in blue plates ? When you drive on it ,it's all green plates ......BS

Probably "9 east" or "9 south".....is to clear ????

Asking people the right way is also very difficult :most dont know where they live ,are scared away by a road map, or just lie to get rid of you.

I avoid BKK if i can .coffee1.gif

Also this knew road, if you dont live there ,how to know wich road they talk about ,not even a rudimentary map.

Good for the confusion !

I can't tell from the OP article just what roadway section they're talking about...

But they appear to be talking about some part of the existing expressway that roughly runs parallel to Petchaburi / Rama 9 Road.

See Google Map clip below, and the "Sirat Expy" running east-west across the middle of the map:
