Then they wonder why communism occurs.

Communism is better? Where everyone shares the wealth and therefore no one has an incentive to develop any?

The first European settlers in the US tried that. They all put their crops in a common storehouse for the winter so there would be plenty for all. That made some people lazy and there wasn't nearly enough food for all. They changed it to make each responsible for his own and all was fine after that.

Bill Gates is a college dropout who was studying computer science. He met a guy who had developed essentially what we call DOS. Up until then there really wasn't a viable operating system for what we call the IBM PC. Bill Gates borrowed IIRC $50,000 from his parents and bought the system. Then he showed it to IBM who had to have it. IBM had the computer but not the OS.

But Bill Gates has always been shrewed and he wouldn't sell it even for a big profit. He would, and still does, only sell licenses per machine. IBM went for it and the rest is history.

That's what's great about capitalism. Even a middle class college dropout can become a multi-billionaire.

I didn't support communism with my post. If the super rich overdo things one shouldn't be surprised by a popular uprising which could lead to a dictatorship of the masses, which would benefit no one, especially the rich. I have no problem with someone becoming rich ( with honesty ) but a trillion is taking the piss. Would you like to be locked in a room with your huge stack of food with 100 starving people siting opposite you, what, i wonder would be the outcome?

I still wonder "why communism occurs," or why anyone would gravitate towards it. Ask the Russians how it worked out for them? North Korea is another communist success story. If someone is intelligent enough to accumulate mega-bucks, then good for them.

That's where philanthropy comes in....

Bill Gates has built an amazingly successful company. He now uses his wealth to fund causes on a scale that puts most governments to shame. He has funded the Gates Foundation to the tune of some $30billion to date. Warren Buffett will be adding some $20billion to the Foundation over the next decade.

more bolllox...the Worlds only trillionaire has never been shown on Forbes Rich List it is Lord Rothchild,,with approx 3 trillion GDP (he would have been on Forbes all his life as a trillionaire)

Who is the "Lord Rothchild" you are referring to, and how do you reckon he is worth "3 trillion GDP" (Do you mean Jacob Rothschild, and do you mean GBP?)

This delightful tale about the Rothschild family has always had a distinct anti-semitic undercurrent and is also about 120 years out of date.

Undoubtedly the Rothschild family had amassed enormous wealth by the late 19th century, but today reality is a little different.

The problem with family fortunes is that they tend to get diluted over the succeeding generations. Almost right from the start there were the separate French, Austrian, British, and Naples-based banking Rothschild families. These distinct groups today still exist between France and the UK. Then there is the French wine-making branch, and today there are endless descendants, all with a slice of the still not-inconsiderable pie.

So the various elements of a very extensive family are extremely wealthy. The fact that the family first made their fortune at a time of absolute anti-semitism in Europe, and that subsequent family members have been able to maintain, and at times, even enhance the family coffers, just underlines their impressive achievement.

I am sure Jacob Rothschild would love to know he is worth 3 trillion pounds, US$ or even THB!

I don't know. Ask that guy with the funny haircut in N. Korea how he handles it.

There is already a trillionaire; the owner of the Scott Paper Company. He just doesn't know this yet.

This man owns trillions of perforated rolls of toilet paper. They are stored up in warehouses around the world. In about 25 years he will be called upon by the World Bank to distribute his rolls of toilet paper to banks worldwide, as it will be the newly recognized world currency.

By that time, we will be wiping our bums with recycled dollar bills, euros and pounds.

When we get up in the morning, and have our breakfast (if you eat breakfast), get some coffee and the news paper, and sit out on the veranda, enjoying the coffee and the news paper.

Wonder if it makes a difference if we have 50 million dollars or 1 trillion on the bank?

Me, as regular middle class worker, I am very satisfied with my life.

There are probably already trillionaires. It is just that they do not want to have anything to do with the Forbes list. King Abdullah is a trillionaire. Have you ever seen him listed on Forbes? How about Queen Elizabeth? The ruler of the Emirates? The owners of the Fed?

Communism is one of the most ridiculous concepts we have seen in generations. It is so ill conceived. The level of idealism is completely impractical as long as greed exists in the world. And in case Marx and the other idiots that professed this massive silliness and fraud did not notice, greed does exist.

Just look at Cuba. A failed state. Doctors earning $40 per month, moonlighting as tour guides. Hospitals without aspirin or bandaids. A comedy of a government. The current leader is a multi billionaire, from drug running. So, is his supposedly communist brother, Fidel the cockroach. N. Korea? Kim has an 11,000 bottle collection of fine wines from Bordeaux and Burgundy. A real communist. All Communism really is, and has always been, is a way for a few guys to amass enormous power, become De facto dictators, and then amass billions. A real demonstration of policies to benefit the people. Yes, and I have a great bridge to sell you.

Rather like the concept of Christianity then.

There has never been a communist state on this earth. Even the Russians called their failed experiment ''Soviet Socialist..... China is a ''Peoples Republic'' a dictatorship of the ''Party'' and N. Korea doesn't even pretend. Communism, like Christianity,is a concept of idealism which can't be reached because human beings are......well human beings.
