Prayuth ready to act only as last resort

No wonder the thai people are so disillusioned with the conflicting statements coming from this bloke!

Yesterday he stated that a coup was not the answer.

It's starting to look like the faceless yellows are slowly getting there way.

All this crap about charging sutep and freezing his assets has gone far to long now and he is a protected species allowed to carry on with what ever means he likes to divide the country and take it to the brink.

And surprisingly judging by so of the posts on here over the last few months people are actually hoping for this lunatic fanatic to get his way,

Shame!

Have to smile at this Parrot you have a valid point, he comes out with some craziest answers, BUT again if you told the whole truth but that is not your agenda, over the last 3 years How many conflicting statements have come out of your super fantastic governments mouths. ?? maybe thousands.

Chalerm Yingluck Jutaporn the list is endless, attack bob by all means that is your posting right as is mine but Please don't attack when your own house is 100 times more guilty.

Please note I did agree with you. Then out comes the Yellow sticker. I posted an honest non biased post about Why the army is in the wings, ON THE FIRST PAGE surely it makes sense ???

"The army announced it would transport weapons and armaments including artillery and tanks from Khok Krathiam station in Lop Buri province to Bangkok for use in annual military field exercises."

Any fields in Bangkok anybody know of? giggle.gif

Oh! and.. "All soldiers sent to guard venues with Capo police are unarmed..."

Wut? An unarmed army? The reds will love that one! whistling.gif

Prayuth ready to act only as last resort..........

Bolllox he aint going to do anything as he only has a few weeks until he retires and does not want to have a troubled retirement, it will be the guy who replaces him that will get tough and then it will be full on

Prayuth has hinted in the past that he didn't want to make waves before his retirement which would explain why he's opted for the 'Swiss position' for so long. But what he says is true..... if there are still enough Thais on both sides who can be arsed to get involved any more and trouble does kick off then the military is the only option to maintain law and order.

Seems easy enough, Suthep has only to escalate violence via his thugish guards against the red protest group, and presto, the coup he has always been dreaming about, how convinient

Another fantasy post. Not once in 6 months has the PDRC attacked the Reds. What makes you think they will begin now? If anything the REDS will attack the PDRC.

Suthep has done a pretty good job minimizing violence from his supporters. Even though his rallies and supporters have been attacked almost daily. Closr your eyes and go back to sleep so you can dream up more BS to post

Forgetting the PDRC supporters and students attacking the Red Shirt bus last December aren't we?

Widely covered by Bangkok Post and The Nation.

Boredom set in after being couped up in the stadium, and a few Red Shirts decided to wander around the campus. Sadly, on their walkabout, they defaced a statue and a couple posters.

A half-dozen or so students went to complain to the rally's organizers, and one of the students ended up shot and killed.

The students spread the word, and ended up chasing the Reds out of Bangkok.

When both sides can't find a way to settle their differences, which is most likely to happen, they may face the power of the REAL rulers of Thailand in the military.

Thailand will get what it deserves unfortunately: an autocratic rule with Chan-Ocha being the Law, the one who despises different thinking the most...

Be careful what you wish for, opposition folks on both sides..

So who was the pop corn bag shooter shooting at, who shot the Red leader in Udon Thani and whose guards routinely beat up anyone who they think may have red sympathies?

Moving traffic cones appears to be top of the list for getting the crap beaten out of you. Funny how the victims mothers have responded to both incidents so far. Good on them, (the mums that is)

Yes I also think he is also forgetting the Red that was beaten by 2 PDRC gaurds and thrown into to river left for dead, only to be rescued it was also widely covered, by the BKK Post and The Nation. Amazing how one can be so blind or brainwashed that he can not admit that both sides have violence within there ranks!

Usually retaliation takes place, the aftermath of lousy bad governance that created the incidents, Splendid government, then usually the public responds with hard work, and the want to improve there lives further.

Case in point from today:

Two M79 grenades fired at rally site near Government House, injuring two

BANGKOK: -- A man and a woman were slightly injured with bomb fragments when assailants fired two M79 grenades at a rally site near the Government House late Saturday night.

The attack against the rally site of the Students and People Network for Thailand's Reform happened at 10:30 pm.

The first grenade fell behind the rally stage, injuring Naronchai Seesirirungrot, 52, and Isarawan Sriklai, 55.

The second grenade fell in front of the Rajvinit Secondary School, damaging three phone booths and three cars.

xnationlogo.jpg.pagespeed.ic.k-Kc5cy-DD.

Please point out where it says red shirts fired those grenades, more likely Suthep own para military thugs so as to provoke Prayuth. I expect more of these type of attacks in the next few days as crunch time approaches.

Its not in the UDDs interests to attack the PDRC.

more likely Suthep own para military thugs so as to provoke Prayuth

The "their are shooting at themselves" become untenable when a group of Red Shirts were caught, after bombing the NACC, in possesion of grenades of the same type and the same lot numbers as those used previously to attack anti-government protestors.

You are peddling BS in support of terrorism.

Prayuth continues to tread a path that veers away from the political debate. And yet the consistency of his statements in recent months, as well as the consistency of his actions in recent months lend a lot of clarity, What can we glean from Prayuth statements and actions in recent months ?

1. He consistently affirms respect for the judicial process, and urges all parties to work through the judicial system.

2. He has consistently chosen not to arm his men in operations when the army presumably works under the direction of CAPO in tandem with the police - as with the guarding of CAPO.

3. He has chosen ( likely without the initiative of CAPO ) to station his men at various locations to protect against attacks in the middle of the night - the clear implication being attacks against the protesters.

The army's initiatives regarding the protection of PDRC rally sights has clearly had some effect. One can only assume that would not have been the case if they were under the protection of the police - simply from past observation of attacks on PDRC rally sites in the past. So the army has already proven Prayuth's claim that they are there for the protection of the public - regardless as to political affiliation. That should of course makes them friends of CAPO. It would certainly be curious if it didn't.

Sondhi is back! The airport closer. The seditionist who brought the country to its knees by occupying its international airport for a week and causing a month of disintermediation in international air travel. Sondhi, the best airport closer in the world. The military let him operate at will as well. He is a powerhouse. We should rejoice that this powerful and knowing Thai leader is back on the scene.

Perhaps he has recovered from the bullet wound to his brain when Thaksin had his SUV sprayed with 200 rounds of automatic rifle fire? That Sondhi?

And of course you have irrefutable evidence that Thaksin ordered that incident in order to make such a blatant comment such as that, correct? Or are you just talking out of your nether region?

Isn't a more reasonable standard "beyond a reasonable doubt". Is there any evidence that is truly irrefutable. You see me do something. I just claim it was someone disguised as me. Refer to Hollywood for how well someone could pose as someone else (or perhaps I should reference Mission Impossible).

At the same time rabas should probably have rephrased as "Perhaps he has recovered from the bullet wound to his brain when his SUV was sprayed with 200 rounds of automatic rife fire, possibly at the orders of Thaksin". All depending on the level of proof available. It probably was political, and the likely suspect was Thaksin, though it could always have been some other fanatic from that side, or as someone will undoubtedly suggest, he shot his car and himself looking for sympathy.

And you call those things attacks? Or self preservation and defense. Lets see you get grenades launched at you daily and shots fired at your house or business and we all will see how you react. Either you will run and hide like a cowerinf fool or you will be paranoid and quick to react on anything that appears as a possible threat. Don't you think any RED caught near you would be suspicious and a possible theat. Also dont you think any RED knows that by straying near you would be taking a risk after all the attacks thought to have been done by the RED party

Moo, your attempts to spin the whole mess to somehow lay the blame on the anti-government protesters for the violent attacks really are pathetic.

It has been clear right from the start who the troublemakers are, and I do wish you would stop lying to divert attention from them. Your side are not a red protest group; they are terrorists...!

no harm to mate but Preyuth seems to be the only one with any sense in all of this and if his hand is forced he has no option but to step in, you can call it what you want - coup - political whatever - this man is loyal to only one person in Thailand and has sworn an oath to uphold that loyalty and protect the Thai people from harm - his very existence has most likely saved countless lives and he hasn't raised a finger

Try and imagine the situation without him - dire indeed

Gabruce, you are correct as usual. I didn't want to respond directly to an insult wrapped in a question.

I refer to Thaksin because that is what Sondhi himself said after the incident. He said he knew who had planned it and referred to him as the big man overseas, a commonly used reference reserved for Thaksin. Sondhi is also on record for profusely forgiving him, which I interpret to mean he is scared out of his wits.

There is also a conspiracy theory that emerged later, which suggests the army might have been involved. Having read what I could on that, I think it is likely to be just a smoke screen. But like you point out, who really knows exactly what goes on. We can only go on the pieces of information that drift out, mixed with a bit of logic.

I always enjoy your highly objective posts, but ran out of likes.

They are like a breath of fresh air in a wind tunnel.

I find it a bit ironic that both sides talk about it, one side will bitch about it if it happens yet keep painting the army into a corner, blaming them for having to constantly defend themselves publically, instead of working together behind the scenes to do everything in their power to divert it.

I suspect ordinary folk on both sides are tired of it and wish for a system with proper checks and balances but until the day comes when they can look further to the future beyond tomorrow, the status quo will remain...sadly.

Me propaganda? where is your evidence of the PDRC shooting at themselves. I cited facts:

"A police source said the M79 grenades had the same lot number as those fired at the Thai PBS head office on February 26, while the RDG-5 grenades had the same lot number as those used in previous attacks in Bangkok's Bang Na area, Chon Buri and Nonthaburi."

The armament in possession of those Red Shirts is linked to attacks against the PDRC; now put up or shut up, where are your facts?

Well, to be fair, Abhisit put forth a workable framework for reforms. It might not be perfect, but it's time for PTP to go to the table. Either that, or they'll be left behind.
