Channel News Asia

Featured Replies

Hi there, in Chiangmai which are the cables that provide " Channel News Asia " a Singapore channel.....thank you..

Channel News Asia is an excellent news service. We have it on CTH and our on our second TV set IPM which has no monthly fees. But this is the current weird situation.

IPM are still broadcasting Channel News Asia, with live crosses from Bangkok, but CTH are not, along with a host of other news channels.

CTH are broadcasting SKY UK News but not ABC TV from Australia, all very confusing, but very Thai.

Of course the goal posts keep moving even fb was down this pm

WETV does and about 4 or 5 other international news networks, plus a few channels with English language movies and TV shows - 350 baht a month last time that I checked. Channel News Asia has been working fine since the army allowed TV to go back to broadcasting.

Sadly for us the cable supply for WETV falls short,we are in BWT,Hang Dong. Not sure if they plan to extend the cable in the future certainly hope so the more options the better.

Yes, WETV has it via CABLE and fairly cheap, which is pretty good because the WETV service, has frequent audio and video drop-outs on their other channels but so far, over the past few years, CNA (Channel 34) has not been cut too often.

Would also have to say that CNA has the best coverage of S.E. Asian and World News that I have seen, in 40+ years of working in the News Media here in Thailand and abroad. Their main presenters, Glenda Chong and Timothy Goh are both excellent and if I had known they were around six years ago, I would have done my best to have "Pirated " them, to work with me.

Al Jazeera (English) (Channel 42) which also comes via WETV, is pretty good (have to say that, as one of my former staff is now a producer there) and never thought I would admit it, but BBC World Service (Channel 34) is also worth watching. ABC (Australia Network, Channel 35,) is okay at times but too many reporters show a strong Political Bias. German TV (DW TV, Channel 36) used to be very good but has dropped its English Language News and Current Affairs shows, so unless you speak German.......

Happy Viewing!!

I really like Yvonne Yong. I don't pay a lot of attention to her presenting skills. I just think that she is really hot!
