June 6, 201411 yr It is first step you have to report the lost officially at your police station. If everything is alright they will issue a confirmation of this; with this confirmation you can go to your DLT and apply for a new book. However there must be some proof that you are the real owner.

June 6, 201411 yr I did as Hili mentioned a few weeks ago. Just get a police report and go to the DLT with your regular forms of ID. From memory it only took about an hour and a new one was issued on the spot. All in all, a pretty painless thing really.
