Ruling on live broadcast of all World Cup matches known Wednesday

BANGKOK: -- The Supreme Administrative Court will on Wednesday hand down its verdict on the dispute between RS Plc, Thailand’s second largest entertainment media company, and the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC), the national regulator, over the airing of all 64 matches of the World Cup 2014 on free TVs.

NBTC appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court when the Central Administrative Court ruled in favor of RS to air only 22 World Cup matches from the total 64 matches, arguing that RS violates its must-have rule, which stipulates seven sporting competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, which required to be broadcast via free-TVs.

RS is the right holder of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The Supreme Court will hand down the verdict tomorrow after hearing testimonies Tuesday from both the NBTC and RS.

Meanwhile RS chief operating officer Pornpan Tejrungchaikul said if RS loses the court case, it might choose to stop airing all the World Cup matches because it could risk violating its agreement with FIFA.

All the signs of another fiasco in the making like the Euros one in 2012....

The Supreme Administrative Court

Nice title.

It was all so much better when it was one game on Ch7, the next on Ch3 listening to crackling commentary on BBC World Service.

Typical Thailand if i can't have it for myself, none of you will have it,so along with a very few other countries in the world Thailand may not see any of the world cup,i just cannot understand this.

I am literally fuming at this nonsense, just show all the games, maybe the general can step in and order them to do it,christ,at this rate North Korea will see more of it.

Live Stream.

In HD.

In English.

Cost: None. Besides an average internet connection and HD monitor.

Not listening to Ohhhhooohhhhhoooooooooooo, Suuuuper Save na khrap: Priceless.

it might choose to stop airing all the World Cup matches because it could risk violating its agreement with FIFA.

Wouldn't it be nice if Prayuth could stretch his anti corruption drive all the way to grasping gnomes at FIFA. clap2.gif

Exactly and if all the stupidity and pettiness gets sorted out and the games are shown, for me on TRUE, I'm expecting there will be no English commentary.

I just can't listen to thai commentators with all the " Oh Ho " and " Supa Save ".
