Cut two large onions in half. Leave them cut side up in the room.

Could be an old-wives tale.

Will probably result in your next question being 'how to remove onion smell'.

This is only of the procedure. Take the 2 halves & place in a large container of water, a bucket is ideal. Place the bucket / container anywhere in the room. All paint fumes & smell should be gone in about 24 hours. No wives tale.... it works.

My word! I did this at 5pm yestreen and came in from seeing the wife and there was a distinct improvement. Cheers! I do wonder if the raging tempest last night which hit us helped too...

Glad it worked but the onions are just for fun. Its the open ventilation that allowed the paint to dry.

Your way makes for a fun story though ;-)

So the results are inconclusive.

Can I suggest you repaint all your rooms again and then try each of the sample remedies to see which is quickest/most effective.

Vinegar in open dishes for 24 hours ...then dispose of it. Placecwill stink of vinegar .... then bowls of coffee beans will absorbe that smell ... nothing wrongvwith the smellbof coffee
