Your probably one of those who needs an Embassy letter to renew your Visa.

You remind me of a Chinese Combination Platter .. Minus the Egg Roll

Furthermore: Since when do you judge someone based on how much they have in their pocket.

You're the reason why Thai's think that all Falangs are walking ATM machines.

Another big roller roflmao. I cannot help but chuckle at all the ex secret service agents, rock stars, goodfellas, movie stars and of course fortune 500 gazillionaires who choose to leave the comforts of London, New York, Beverly Hills or Nice to settle down in Thailand. Legends in their own minds I think.

You fail to see it was a joke? Why? You throw 200k a month away? Had a bit of money in the past, spent like a <deleted>, got no respect, happy with my quiet lifestyle here. Each to their own.

I see lol always good to see good sense of humor.

speaking of spending , any one tell me what 2 fillings and deep clean with a BKK dentist would cost, any recommendations would be a great help.

I don't know about Bangkok.... and I don't know about fillings. But a thorough professional cleaning and inspection in a dental clinic in Chiang Mai cost me 600 Baht.... with two dental hygienists working on me.

My dentist only charges 100 bt

I must admit i find it absolutely amazing on how much some of you are spending on just " rent alone "! 20,000 / 30,000 plus ???

Ok i live alone and a simple life i mix mainly with Thais and not so many farang ( after all that's why i came to Thailand! ) I have travelled to most parts of Thailand by train and into remote areas too where some locals have never even seen a farang before!

but i have never met anybody who pays more than 10,000 baht a month in rent anywhere! Guys! most of Thailand is a 3 rd world country Thais would never pay those prices! I am currently living in Naklua ( just outside Pattaya ) and a one bedroom condo with balcony, wifi and sat TV etc costs 4,000 baht a month in rent. The average price of a one bedroom condo in Pattaya of superb standard will cost no more than 6,000 - 7,000 baht per month.Interestingly enough i was in Chiang Mai last month in some ( i shall be moving soon ) and close to town a one bedroom new condo with extras is 3,500 - 4,000 per month. In the villages a one bedroom ( unfurnished ) from as little as 1000 baht per month. Small 2 bed houses(unfurnished) with garden from 2,000 baht a month, 3 bedroom (furnished) with garden for 6,500 per month and a Thai Mansion with loads of bedrooms, electric gates, massive gardens, a lake, gardener and all extras was 10,000 per month! ( To find these gems you have to get out there on your bicycle and get mixing with the locals! )

Sorry guys but whatever floats your boat but paying 20,000 - 30,000 i would say that these property owners are " laughing all the way to the bank " They must love these types of farang! lol ( with the kindest respect to you all viewers ) x

Right, you can find affordable, not to say cheap, all right accommodation most places – especially if you are alone and don’t need too much of anything – but location. If you wish to live in a popular tourist area, beachfront or very close to beach in a good standard 1-bed bungalow, you easily spend 10,000+ baht a month, sometimes between 15k and 20k. If you need more than 1 bedroom and some facilities, perhaps a little bit of luxury, a villa may cost you from 30k to 70k. Looking for a good beachfront villa in certain areas will costs you in the range of 100k a month and up. Mind you, those bungalows and houses are normally traded for millions of baht, so 30k can still be a cheap lease compared to the property investment, if you calculate with a yearly rent in the range of 8 to 12 percent. Just take a "normal priced" 4 million baht house, 8% is some 25k a mont, and 12% will be 40k. wink.png
