What do you pay for maid service?

I was quoted 200 baht for a 25 m2 room from my landlord, just wanted to compare costs with others. My room has no kitchen, just a small room + bathroom.

I think you will find the MINIMUM wage is now 300 Baht per day or part day. Best to check with the Labor Office. We pay 300 per day, even if she finishes in less time. It ISN'T that much and promotes Loyalty... we hope!

Lol, check with the Labor Office, this is Thailand chuckles. 200 baht sounds about right; I imagine for a 25m2 room even if she is very thorough she won't take more than two hours and she will be very happy with 200 baht (as long as it all goes to her, not some middleman or agency or whatever). For better service, I recommend Burmese or Laos maids, they are more grateful for the work and harder workers in general.

Complete rip off , it should be no more than 150thb !

Jees some posts here get on my .....

Its 200thb to have you room completley cleaned and you feel the need to see if 200thb is fair.

You think you were being ripped off ?

I wished I could find one at twice or triple the minimum wage.

Today I paid the 200 baht for a maid. She spent 40 minutes cleaning my small studio and in my opinion did a subpar job.

One area under one of my tables was not fully swept and had some rice grains spread around. The dishes were not cleaned. The small balcony area was not swept at all(!) I don't know if the Thais think of it as a place unworthy of maintaining because it's exposed to the outside; to me it should have been at least swept.

I suppose this is what I get for going with the most convenient option instead of shopping around.

Lesson learned. My next maid will actually clean the entire place, and get paid half the price (100 baht) because my place is so small it does not even require an hour worth of work.

I pay 650 baht for three hours work. I know I am paying a foreigner based price but I've really bonded with the lady who does it (many years), so I don't mind. I also know she would take less if I pushed it ... in fact I have given her "raises" without her asking ...

NO. I will not clean the place myself or pay above market rates for unskilled labor.

Condo 80 sqm, 3 cleaners +/- 2 hrs 300 Thb. And trust me its clean, even the windows get done. (Out and inside)

Ps: Note these are the cleaners who also clean the condo building, and the prices have been set by the Condo Management

My condo (high end) has generously offered to provide a maid for around 600 bt/hour, minimum two hours. My real estate agent offered an only slightly better deal (I think about 500/hr). Similar for aircon, condo management has a sole supplier, cost is around 3200 bt for routine service of three units (2 single + one double). I politely declined these offers, but still haven't found a reliable and trustworthy alternative. Obviously, I could afford the prices but hate getting ripped off. And I thought labor was supposed to be cheap here? In Singapore I paid far less than those prices, and from reputable suppliers.
