One man dies in World Cup related shooting in Banglamung.

Police Major Khunawoot from Banglamung Police Station was called to a small restaurant located on the Sukumvit Road near the entrance to Highway 36 in the early hours of Wednesday Morning after receiving information of a fatal shooting which had just taken place at the location.

The victim of the shooting, Khun Anoowat aged 35 had sustained a single gun shot wound to the head and died as he was being transported to Hospital. The shooter who cannot be identified had frequented the restaurant every night during the World Cup and was part of a group of 5 men.

At the conclusion of the England V Sweden match an altercation between the victim and the shooter took place where the unknown gunman produced a weapon and shot at Khun Anoowat at close range. Police believe the case centers on the outcome of the match and are now attempting to locate the shooter who remains at large.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder if the victim had won a large wager on the match, and the shooter was the one who was supposed to pay out ? Better to shoot him than pay him ?

So when they say "the shooter cannot be identified" ,is that because they don't know his identity or is it because he may turn out to be a local businessman who can pay plenty of bail/tea money ?
