Franky Bear Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Can i take my Thai Mrs to the States for a holiday? If so how hard is it to obtain the correct paperwork?
theoldgit Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 As I understand it the Consular Officer who decides on the visa when your family are interviewed will, by law, will start with the premise that they want to stay in the US. She will need to convince the officer that their life is in Thailand, probably easier for a woman married to a Brit than an American, but take nothing for granted and build up a strong case of your strong ties to Thailand, even if you work overseas which I believe you do. The information is all here http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/visas.html 1

It'd be nice to take them and do the Disney thing etc
mikebell Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 My experience (admittedly 3 years ago) was horrendous. The on-line form kept crashing; there were no appointments. Finally got one - as always, early morning so hotel in BKK. A cattle scrum - no notice taken of times. Husbands not allowed in so a four hour wait outside on the pavement. Just when I'd vowed never to visit America again, my wife emerged with a 10 year visa! LA Immigration was a nightmare. However we are going to Disneyland Florida in one week's time. 2
