BANGKOK: -- While Ang Thong province may have its 54-year-old Swiss dude and his pad thai, Bangkok can brag about this Isaan-sausage slinging farang.

Pantip user “kobgingala” shared his encounter with farang selling Isaan sausage on Soi Pracha Uthit 90 in the Thung Khru district.

He learned from a nearby minimart owner the farang sausage vendor was helping out his girlfriend.

They are paranoid, cracking down all the foreigner for any reason. ....and Thailand will be be part of the ASEAN community?

Never ever.

They are not ready to be part of any international community.

Thailand has been part of ASEAN for almost 5 decades. 47 years to be exact.

If you are talking about the AEC, yes they are preparing themselves for working within such a community, by improving its control of immigration and illegal labour.

Unfortunately (for you) nobody here keeps track of what you want or don't want to read.  Guess we'll just have to live with it.

They are cracking down on illegal immigrants, what does that have to do with ASEAN?  You think countries within international communities should fail to enforce their existing immigration laws?

Deport him for working illegally.

He should be in jail forever, or perhaps even get the death sentence if he has sold sausage for a long time. He might have made hundreds of baht and given it all to his thai gf. These criminals are ruining everything!!!

Yes, he is threatening society on so many levels. He is wreaking destruction on the very fabric of the thai way of living. Immigration needs to crack down now, or everything could unravel for this country. One fareng selling sausages is horrible. It is terrible. It should not be allowed to happen. All of Thailand is scared at the implications of this act. Get the authorities involved, and stop this important and meaningful work he is doing, immediately.

I had to look twice but a few days ago I saw a farang playing the Violin in broad daylight on the footbridge at BTS On-Nuch.
Certainly better then begging with innocent children in tow

I sort of get it. Imagine the following:

- you are in the UK and it's a Middle Easterner selling you your fish and chips and mushy peas

- you are in the States and it's an Indonesian selling you chilli con carne

- you are in Oz and it's a Chinaman selling you souvlaki on Lygon Street

- you are in Italy and it's a Korean selling you pizza and spaghetti

- you are in France and it's a Thai selling you escargots

Somehow, something's not right with this picture above, don't you think?

The guy is working illegally. That's up to him, but, does he know how much he has to lose?

Deported, black-listed and loss of family on one side of the ledger against saving some time for his wife on the other.

The risk / reward ratio is very heavily tilted towards risk. If he's dumb enough not to see that, then he deserves everything he gets.
